"famous last words, right?" Well I think for a while.... I've always been a single action / double action fan and my two favorite semi-auto pistols are both Sigs... the full size P226 and the 'carry' model P239... but the one pistol that I kind of wanted to try and give a run was a single action only Semi-auto. And so a Sig P226 in single action only was on my kind of want list for a while and then for the last two years or so creeping towards the top. I bought a P226 Legion in 357 sig just over 2 years ago from a fellow member here and loved it.... So, what became my golden trophy was a Sig P226 Legion SAO in 357 sig... they don't seem to exist and so my fall back was the same in 9mm at a decent price. (yea right).... here's where it really gets crazy... couple weeks ago a fellow member here offered for sale a Sig P226 in 357sig with a crimson trace laser grip and I jumped on it... just because I had the extra money. So, I go to pick up that pistol last Friday at my FFL and on the way out kind of glance at the used pistols they have for sale..... there in the case was Sig... p226.... Legion... in SINGLE ACTION ONLY!... 9mm of course.... and the price tag on it made me step back.... about $300 more than I wanted to pay.... so I kept going.., then I thought about it over the weekend.... (you know you can justify just about anything).... I already had three Sig P226s with 357 sig upper slides.... that will work on that 9mm Single action one sitting in my dealers case for too much money.... Keep in mind I over think things .... So, my plan was to go back by on Monday and 'negotiate" a cash price for the gun and then go to the bank and get the cash and come back and buy it. So I'm headed there yesterday and realize I got to drive by the bank on the way to the dealer and, "why the hell not just get the cash on the way because you know you are going to buy the damn pistol!" Hopefully my 'legion' collection is now complete... I have both a SA/DA and SAO and both can shoot either 9mm or 357 sig and one of the upper 9mms has a Romeo sight on it. (oh, and I even have a spare legion 9mm slide not pictured) Here's the thing I did not realize on these SAO pistols. look at that flat trigger on the top pistol and how it is set back further.... you end up with a perfect finger placement on it and by my scale about a 3.5lb trigger pull with absolutely no creep and the reset is right at 1/8th of an inch! I which I could get the history on this pistol... what surprised me was when I looked at the case that came with it with the serial number on it... made last April just a year old... how did it end up at my dealers? there is absolutely no smile or mark on the barrel. Interesting. Thanks for pointing out the trigger positioning. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised there would be a difference. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I just bought a SAO Legion in .45 ACP I agree the fit, finish and trigger is outstanding! I already have a SAO 226, not a legion tho and put my own flat trigger from grayguns in it. Sig’s with SAO are a real delight. ________,_____________________________ Guns don't kill people - Alec Baldwin kills people. He's never been a straight shooter.

I'm really having to work to learn to flip that safety down while acquiring the target and I have to use my other thumb under the firing hand thumb to flip it back up before holstering. I've now got the Romeo slide, pictured on the SA/Da on the lower pistol in the picture above on the SAO one and am working on acquiring the dot. Seems I don't have a natural point of aim with these as good as I do with my P239s.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Blume9mm, My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

Sooo many guns and not enough time (or money in my case) to try them all……Nice find though. Legions in my neck of the woods are rare.

the realty is I'm sure another one I want will come along but there is nothing on my list at the moment. Those two Legions were my holy grail so to speak... and the extra slides & barrels that allow me to go from 9mm to 357 sig is the icing on the cake. I have realized how to deal with the safety on the SAO one... I've always thought a safety on a SA?DA pistol was foolish but fully understand the reason for one on a SAO pistol starting with the 1911... carrying "cocked and locked." the answer became obvious about half way though going through a 10 minute dry fire routine... position #1 when you grab the pistol still in the holster and get the right grip on the frame have your thumb on top of the safety. Of course you don't flip the safety down until you have the pistol pointed at the target... (safety off and finger still off the trigger). All sounds easy but is of course going on in pretty much less than 2 seconds and is hard to develop perfectly. My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

I won't pretend to understand the mechanics of SA, but isn't that trigger position by design? Consider a 1911 with shorter pull as a comparison (though that is a different design, but still SA). When a DA/SA gun goes to SA (not SRT), you have the longer take up, but after that, the short pull from that farther back position.

The trigger on the Single actions is in the exact same position as on the double action/single action pistol once you fire it or even just cock the hammer.... below is a picture of my DA/SA Sig with the hammer cocked sitting on top fo the single action pistol. Both have flat triggers on them and both are in the same exact position. Oh, how many folks here know that if you buy a used Legion you can still join up and register at Sig and be a 'member'... I know it was an over hyped marketing scheme but sometimes I just can't help myself. I registered this second pistol with Sig and then discovered they were sending me a Sig Legion pistol carry bag and Legion coin for free....This message has been edited.
