Anybody know where I can get an OEM Glock 40 slide with sights for my Glock 20? I've got a 6" KKM barrel for my G20, but it would be nice to have the longer sight radius, especially for hunting.

I ask as my understanding is that the Gen 4 slide has a larger lower part of slide to fit around dual spring system, and that the channel in the Gen 3 frame isn't compatible.
Since G40 is only Gen 4, I believe you have to have a gen 4 frame also.
As to frame size, as I understand it, the Gen 20, 21, 40 and 41 all have the same frame size- so you just need the right upper.
Are you planning on using your 6" barrel? Just curious.
Good luck!

I do use the 6" barrel. In fact, I killed a deer with it a couple of years ago during the WI deer season, from a very close range of 15 yards in a treestand. Wisconsin requires a minimum 6" barrel length for deer hunting. I probably should have bought the G40 to begin with.

It's going to be difficult to find a Gen4 G40 slide. Especially OEM. 1) Sell off the G20 and get a G40 2) Have the G20 slide milled for a Red Dot Sight. Then sight radius becomes a non-issue.

With 10mm, #2 is a good idea. However, EGW and others make adapter plates for red dots that slide into the rear sight cut. Run around $50, or so, I believe.
Then, if you don't like it, you aren't stuck with red dot. However, may not be as secure with deer grenade rounds as a milled slide itself. I don't know.

Thanks, all, for the suggestions. I actually called Glock to find out if I could buy a slide, even though I was almost positive that they did not sell them. They confirmed what I suspected - serial numbered parts are not sold. Anyway, now just thinking up an excuse to get a G40.

Thanks for that bit of info. I didn’t even know that was being done. I haven’t been really looking at red dots because I don’t have a platform for it...turns out that I do!

Found two of them on GB when the Gen4 40MOS was kinda new. Made a good host for .38 Super.
Don't know if you'll have any luck asking around to see if a swap could be done.
Having the extra for swapping between target & carry would be a plus.

I’d just sell the g20 with the barrel and get a g40. Keep any after market parts like sights ect. And put em on the new gun. By the time you get your slide milled and buy the optic you already paid for a new g40 with some change to spare. Unless you really want a red dot, but I’d just get a bridge mount and a small red dot like a vortex or Holosun and take it off when you’re done hunting
