OP, how’s that Bisley recoil? I’ve never sh one, but have had several rugers with the plow handle and they all whacked my middle finger knuckle unless I let my pinkie hang off the end of the grip.

Been looking at a new revolver and was thinking about one in 44 or 357 with a bisley

I had the same issue with my old Super Blackhawk that had the squared dragoon frame, beat the crap out of my knuckle.

This new Bisley grip eliminates that issue. You can see by the pic here that there is more room behind the trigger guard and you are gripping higher on the bore axis as compared to a traditional standard frame. The gun still rolls up under recoil but it seems (for me) more comfortable.

This one is a 44 Special, so it’s on Rugers medium frame platform. Here’s a pic from the final sight in at 20yds with Buffalo Bore hardcast. These loads crush pigs, going straight through end to end. And hitting the big shoulder scapula no problem blasts right through.
That gun and ammo combo carried in a Simply Rugged crossdraw holster is a winner.

Broke out the Blackhawks and the 1894s today. It's been a while. Forgot how much that plow-handle grip moves in my hand. It's not a huge problem, but it's the opposite of what I try to do with every other gun, and it slows me down a lot. The leverguns are fun...they absolutely hammer the plates on the rack, and they're plenty accurate. But my technique lacks practice and again my consistency suffers compared to more modern semi-auto platforms.

My S&W pre model 10, inherited from my wife’s dad. Not sure if he carried this one but he was a deputy sheriff in Bend, Oregon in the 50’s and 60’s.
It’s got a few dings on it that might suggest duty carry.
