Suggestions for trigger for a Glock 22 - safety tab sting
I recently purchased a used LEO turn in Gen 4 Glock 22.

I just got around to shooting it today, more for function test than anything, as I had installed a Recoil reduction kit in it.

Fired about 25 rounds, 155 gr & 165 gr bullets.
But the trigger, mainly the safety tab, stung and irritated my trigger finger.

The pistol has the smooth faced trigger.

Any suggestions on a replacemnt trigger that may help this? Not looking for any upper end exotic purple trigger or changing pull weights, just a basic functional drop in replacemnt trigger to decrease the sting.

I could do a search, but trust the honest experience of the group here . Thanks.

This is the first Glock I've had since 2010. I don't remember my Glock 31 stinging my finger like this.

I’ve tried quite a few, but the Apex is the one that I think is the most comfortable.

The only Glocks that ever stung my finger were in .40
I put PolyDat triggers in mine. That fixed it.

I will check that brand out. TY.

I had both a Gen 2 Glock 23 & Glock 22, neither one gave me trigger slap.

Thinking it's the individual gun , perhaps?

Check out the Zev trigger for the Gen 4 Glocks. I’ve been impressed with the ones I’ve spent time with..

If you're not going with a reduced-travel trigger with an aftermarket trigger bar, then what you're getting regardless of where you buy your trigger, is the "shoe." (I put that in quotation marks because trigger shoe doesn't mean what it used to mean). With that in mind you can buy just the shoe, or plastic/metal trigger to go on your existing factory trigger bar, or an entire assembly.

Precision Overwatch makes very comfortable triggers. Their FALX trigger is rounded on the front and curved, and feels like a thinner factory trigger with no serrations; it's metal, and has a safety tab that lays flush with the trigger face so the ridge of the safety doesn't dig or zing your finger. Precisions TAC triggers are wide and curved or flat, with a flat face.

Apex triggers are likewise very comfortable to shoot. You can get just the trigger "shoe," or their kit.

If you're just looking to get rid of a grooved trigger, then you can use a glock OEM smooth trigger.

If you're using other than the factory trigger spring, then you may get some bounce; it shouldn't be happening with factory springs.

An economical trigger fix is replacement of the shoe with a Vickers Tactical trigger; they're plastic and comfortable, flat, with s similar profile to the Precision Overwatch TAC trigger.

My preference is the Precision Overwatch, and then the Apex. A close tie.

Thank you for taking the time to go in depth with your suggestions.

I have a Ruger LC9s Pro, that gave me trigger sting. I installed a Galloway Precision trigger, the sting was eliminated, and it sure has a great trigger pull now.

I am amazed at how accurate that little pistol is.

I like the Salient Arms trigger quite a lot these days and the Overwatch is pretty darn nice as well, but there are A LOT of far superior choices to the factory trigger bow. So many in fact that it's damn hard to keep track of them all.

First try sanding the safety flush with the face of the trigger. I use sandpaper wrapped around a dowel.

+1 for Apex. All my Glocks and Plocks have them They all utilize OEM trigger bars, no $.25 trigger jobs or aftermarket connectors. They all do have OEM minus connectors. Trigger pull is pretty consistent across all models but their triggers are very comfortable. When I purchase a new Glock, i calc in the cost of the trigger as well.

I did something similar except I used an X-Acto knife to trim the blade. Fast and easy.

I have both overwatch precision and agency syndicate on my glocks, both are great, but I like the agency a little more. But overwatch will sell you a NP3 Coated trigger bar and minus connector and safety plunger which is very, very nice.
