My first HK, the CC9
Having tried most of the other - and more common - micro 9s, I bought an HK CC9 from my local gun shop a couple of days ago.

Very pleased with it so far. You won't be bored with the details here, YouTube is your buddy for that, but I will say it feels less brutal than any of the others I tried when shooting it.

I'm getting older and so my youthful advantages for shooting well are more behind me than I like, but I shot this pistol well enough to be comfy with my choice. A word of caution: loading the mags to full capacity is painful if just using your thumbs.
Other than that, I'd give it five out of five so far.

They got the CC9 right. I like it best of the micro 9s. I agree it has the least perceived recoil. The 12 rd mag springs only get a little easier over time. Maglula is a must. I'm hoping they eventually offer the factory option of green frame and black slide. It will be a while as they are still thousands of units behind demand.

A couple things I have noticed with this pistol, after 800-900 rounds.

-1 Pre-load any new mags. Some of the mags are so heavily sprung they can cause a nose up malfunction (failure to feed). Pre-load them for a while or work them a bit just as a precaution.

2-Make sure to use a firm grip, especially early on. They are heavily sprung and may be a little less tolerant to limp wristing because of this and the super short design parameters.

3-Make sure to run some hotter and or heavier for caliber stuff through it to loosen it up. Mine had no issues with 115 grain target stuff out of the box but some may and this is almost always a break in issue for HK's in general. (other brands as well)

4-Try the bigger backstrap. I have medium to small guy hands and the larger backstrap even helped me. I have a tendency to over torque the gun to the left a bit when they are super thin like this and the larger backstrap helped greatly with this for me.

All in all its a great gun and the lightest recoiling of all of its peers that I have shot barring the Glock 48 which is a noticeably bigger gun.

Enjoy.

Love mine. The only thing HK dropped the ball on was not making the direct mounting low enough so that the standard sights could be seen through the optic aperture which means they need to hurry up and make some tall tritium sights so I can swap out the standard sights for those.

If anyone has any factory P239 .357 SIG +1 mag extensions, I need (5) of them. Email in profile thx!

Agreed. Should have come with mid height sights out of the box IMO.

I THINK XS just came out with a set of optics height sights for the CC9. I am not 100% positive, but thought I saw or heard so.

I just checked. They sure did! Unfortunately, it’s a blacked out rear sight which will be almost useless in a low light scenario where the optic goes down. I want to hold out for a tall tritium front AND rear sight set, but I may fold. Thanks for letting me know!

500 rounds through mine and I like it a lot.
I’m in a commie state so I only have 10 round mags, they seem to load ok.
I left them loaded for a few days. No problems feeding, 0 malfunctions.

Cslinger, finally got the required 2.8mm roll pin punch for switching to the larger back strap today. It does feel much better now.
Thank you.

This might be my fave 9mm going forward, and like most here, I have tried a gob -- of all sizes.

Anyone hear anything about the SFP9 CC? It was announced in an European show IWA 2025 about 7 months ago and H&K supposedly confirm that it will be imported into the U.S.

It has the paddle mag, smaller form factor and optic ready. It supposed to be smaller than the CC9. Looks to be chassis system as well.

Earliest on the VP9CC (SFP9CC) is likely end of 2026/early 27 from what I have heard. Some have started to trickle into the Euro markets.

I would t say a blacked out rear sight is useless in low light. Gunslingers had to deal with/
It for years and it seemed to have worked out. Flashlights have been around for a long time to… those help in low light. All my optics mounted guns whether it be for work, off duty, or range pistols have a blacked out rear sight and only a glowing dot on the front. YMMV…

I just prefer to ensure correct sight alignment in the event that my target is illuminated and I am in low or no light. I also don’t have a light on my CC9 and no plans to put one on it. It probably doesn’t matter anyway. In reality, it’s going to be more of a point-shoot scenario if I ever have the displeasure of having to draw a gun to defend myself. Probably won’t even see the sights.

Snipped and bold texted by myself. Yup, can almost guarantee you won't use the sights during a real life nightmare.

Went to the range this week and put a mag through the P228 that was basically me just pointing it at the target and firing while holding onto it with two hands. Eyes focused on the target and the sights in my peripheral just enough to know that I’d be sending the bullets forward. I think it’s good to do that every once in a while.
