I've purchased 3 in the past year.

One of which never fired will remain that way for my son.

Congrats on the "NEW" pistol.

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

+1 on 2 West German P225 acquisitions last year. One satin Nickel and the other Nitron, and one goes to my son as well.

Congrats on the 225! Mine is EVC because I shoot it better than anything other gun I own.

Nice! The DE guns are real beauties, they also came out with the "polizei" version but it's marked German Police Pistol...in English.

OP let us know how it shoots for you. Me, I find the thinner grips requires a firmer hold, its an accurate gun.

Got to the range this afternoon.

Two hundred and nine rounds.

100 American Eagle 124 gr FMJ
100 Remington Arms 115 gr FMJ
9 Speer Gold Dot G2 147 gr

Zero issues.

Pistol came with night sights. Still some glow in them after 11/12 years.

Pistol is absolutely sighted in...which is VERY nice.

My last two Glocks I had to chase the sights a bit.

I got a G43X at the beginning of the year thinking that was going to be the into retirement carry pistol.

That might be going to my daughter now.

Congrats.

The 225 is a really nice piece. The only reason i got rid of mine was because i traded it for a german made/exeter assembled p228r when there was a contract overrun of M12a1’s about 12-13 years ago.

How far does yours eject the hulls? Unless shooting NATO, etc., mine usually drops them at my feet, but some actually hit me. My HiPower with early ejector will throw the same range ammo at least 10 feet.

Funny. I did notice that the last casing would sometimes eject straight back into my forehead. Big Grin

I was about 100 rounds in when one went down the back of my shirt...

Love the German P225! It's been my carry pistol since I obtained my CCW license 15 yrs ago. Both of my late model P225 pistols throw the brass a good 5-6 feet to the right so an extractor check may be in order.

Congrats!

One thing to be wary of: The take-down lever of the P225 is a two-piece part. The pin that passes through the frame has a rivet head that’s crimped to secure the thumb-lever portion. If that rivet head loosens, the thumb-lever can scratch the frame as it swings through its arc.

Newer SIGs have a good quality one-piece MIM take-down lever that eliminates that hazard. And it has a fake rivet head “for that Olde Tyme look”. Smile

When mine was new to me (10 years old but still new) it would sometimes throw them forward, sometimes to the left, sometimes hit my head/chest, but many times hit my arms.

I shot 100 rounds or so, racked the slide a few hundred times, went to synthetic grease, and now it mostly drops range ammo brass at my feet. I think there is an impediment to the slide action on mine, not enough to keep it from functioning, but enough to slow it down considerabily.
