This is discouraging to say the least.

I'm sorry, but the gun does not just go off while it's holstered. Someone is not telling the full story or they are not publicly releasing the info.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

Anyone who believes that a transit cop was just carrying a pistol and it just suddenly went off without being touched needs to seriously never own a gun.

So this is the one and only incident and they ditch the gun? Sounds like the Chief or Command staff wanted Glocks bad.

Yeah, important fact left out: the officer suffered spontaneous human combustion and the round in the chamber cooked off but no one else was injured.

I ll try to get the National Examiner volume and page number reference for y'all tomorrow when I go to the Dollar Store for more Arizona Ice Tea & Skittles.

August 26th? And they decide to ditch them not even two weeks later?

Yeah, this story doesn’t pass the smell test.

If this was Brazil and the Taurus 24/7 then yes I would believe it but a P320 that’s riding in so many police holsters I seriously doubt this guy’s story.

My totally uneducated, don't have all the facts guess is that something got into the trigger guard and this is more of a holster issue. I am aware of an incident where a seatbelt buckle got into a left-handed officer's Safariland 6360 light bearing holster, snagged the trigger and caused it to discharge when the officer got up. The same could conceivably be done by a variety of foreign objects and this holster deficiency is previously documented. I had just never seen it go this way.

Similar incidents involving something in the trigger guard have happened countless times with Glocks, and at least once even with a DAK SIG.

I am aware of one such incident with a Glock that happened to a SIGform member.

I’ve heard much more creative excuses from my students when they fail to submit homework timely.

SEPTA is the Southeastern PA Transit Authority, which is not part of the City of Philadelphia. Philly has enough issues.

Just to show how SEPTA uppers make bad firearms decisions, they used to carry the SIG Pros.

Just ask Plaxico Burress.

Agreed. Not saying it's "because" it was a 320. In the seatbelt incident, I suspect any gun without a manual safety could have had that happen. The amount of force exerted and resistance offered by the belt would overcome any trigger weight. SLS hood might have saved it on a hammer fired gun.

Sig Pro is easily one of the best polymer DA/SA polymer guns in existence. The SP line is arguably the most underrated pistol ever.

Not sure what you are getting at with the SigPro reference. Having SigPro would be an example of a good firearms decision...as they are excellent all around firearms...just ask France. Seriously, I think many departments would be better served if they carried SigPros. IMO one of the best poly-framed guns on the market by far.
