Pro mags in P230/232 Login/Join
Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I haven't tried any pro mags in years as they didn't seem to have a very good reputation in any gun.
I have 2 mags for my stainless 230 thought about getting a couple of range use mags and saving the original ones. Thought I might try them due to cost.
Anybody tried them recently and have some feedback?

Since OEM mags are now crazy expensive I can see why you might want to try pro mags. They're cheap enough to get a couple and see how they work for you. IME they're great for malfunction clearance drills.

Pro mag is pretty much universal junk. In a rare example of dumb luck they did make an extra capacity glock 44 magazine that actually works.

For cheap practice mags if you have a low expectation, maybe they might work.

I have had very good luck rummaging through those “mixed lot” or junk boxes at guns shoe
Ws and shops, often finding good deals on odd ball mags and such. Patience and luck

Promags are always a gamble. As range mags they can be a good value, but I would NEVER trust one for actual self defense.

The thing about a ProMag in a 230 or 232 is you don't know the potential of this fine pistol. The P232 is my favorite pistol an it's awesome with a factory mag. I have several 230's and 232's, just love 'em.

At an Op Spec Training course several years ago I was having a bit of trouble with my pistol. Bruce Gray and Jerry Jones were the instructors.

Bruce noticed I was struggling, pointed at my pistol and asked, "May I?" I darn sure wasn't going to say no.

He looked closely at two full magazines I had on the bench, then loaded and emptied each. Then he turned a 180 and tossed one in the nearby trash can. I'm sure I had a confused-as-heck look on my face. Bruce then smiled and said, "Friends don't let friends run ProMag."

Lesson learned!

God bless America.

OK for the range & practice if you get one that works.
