Got a line on a SIG 1911/22 at a great price. I was wondering if these are the same as the rest of the SIG 22’s(less the mosquito), using a standard frame with a 22 upper. Can I get a regular 1911 upper and get a full power pistol out of it? Like a caliber exchange, just On the 1911. Or are they made of the cheapest pot metal they could find and even shooting 22 is a stretch.

No these guys are made of Zinc alloy Aka pot metal so it would probably blow up if you tried. They aren’t made by Sig so if that good price is anything more than $260 I would pass. These are made by GSG and $260 is what the GSG non Sig branded ones sell for Brand new (identical gun.) _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

Good to know... I was hoping I could drop on a 45 upper and be GTG. Guess I’ll have to bite off the full power and get an upper

Kimber used to sell a dedicated 22 1911. Not sure if they still do or not _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

Marvel makes a great .22 upper that fits on a standard 1911. I have one I sometimes put on my S&W 1911. Swapping them out with the standard upper is a snap and they are absolute tack drivers.
