5632Need help finding German Sig 226 parts
I have been contacting several Sig parts distributors for some time and no one has been any help. I have been looking for a lighter hammer spring for a German Sig 226 and am sent parts from the newer 226's. The problem is that than the grips need to be updated also in order for that to work. I want to retain the original grips. Does anyone have a recommendation on who I might contact for a lighter hammer spring for the German Sig 226? I contacted Sig parts department 3 times and they seem to know nothing about the German models. My other contacts could not help also.

5632Thank you 12131,
I called and ordered and they are the first people that actually knew all the differences.

vbaI too have been looking for parts for my German P228. For the millions of P series folding slide models sold, it feels like Sig has thrown us "under the bus" with regard to stocking parts for these guns.
I just managed to buy the breech block pins (outer and inner) each from two different sources. The recoil spring had to ordered from Wolff Springs.

hrcjonTop gun is the absolute best and inventory lots, but older sig parts are not part of their success. Not blaming them as source is always the issue, I always check but not so much luck.

Top Gun SupplyWe actually do have the older hammer springs in stock. But, they have always and only come in one weight.
https://www.topgunsupply.com/s...9-239-old-style.htmlWe also carry weight variations from Wolff.

Thank you for the compliment! We used to be able to get many of the older parts, but it gets more and more difficult. We always have our eyes peeled for old German parts. We do have some older SKU's, but nothing like we once had.

5632I received the springs from Wolff gun springs and am going to give up trying to replace the hammer spring with a lighter one. The ones I received (4 different weights) were all about 1/4" longer than the stock spring. I installed a 17# spring and it was much heaver to pull in the double action compared to the original Sig spring. They were obviously wrong.
The P226 is properly one of the best guns I own and I don't know what gets into me to want to hop it up. I've been into hot rods to long.

I have the same "urges" with computers.. Always have to upgrade and sometimes end up saying to myself "Should have left it alone".. But it is fun.. sometimes..
