Did Sig ever make a left hand version (right side mag release) of the P226? Local guy has one that was most likely an LEO gun that is DAO. Box, target and all from early 90s I believe.

The magazine release of the pistol is reversible.

If you're contemplating buying the pistol you mentoned, you should be able to switch the mag release back to the left side of the frame if you wish.

Yep! The mag catch is a lot less problematic for lefties than is the decocking lever.

De-cocking lever is easy-peezy with the southpaw trigger-finger. The slide-stop is the booger, LOL. Some can extend the trigger-finger straigt and get enough leverage. Or, one can reach over and use the tip of one of their RH fingers. In doing that, however, you may as well just slingshot it in the current style.

Lefty's adapt trigger finger for mag release and de-cocking no problem, slide release-practice.
