Except for newbies. $30+/box for 50rds of range 9mm seems 'normal' to them. They haven't a clue as to what it used to be only a few short months ago. -MG

I was paying $7.99 for 9mm, prices are crazy high today. Glad I reload and stocked up in powder and bullets.

Like the little girl in the taco commercials says, "Por que no los dos?" (Apologies to actual Spanish speakers.)

What I’m going to say may sound like heresy to some. So take a deep breath and prepare yourselves. If one has to go, I’d lean towards the P228. Although the M11-A1 is just a P229 with some marketing added, it still is a better pistol than a P228. The P229 slide being all one piece of milled stainless should make it stronger and more rust resistant than the P228 (in theory, anyway). If you do have to replace the internal extractor or the whole breech block on the P228, good luck sourcing the parts. Now, there is a caveat I’ll put on this: I change my answer if you plan on re-purchasing the gun in the future. By that, I mean it’s easier to buy another P229/M11-A1 than a P228. So if you were selling to cover the cost of Xmas presents or a new water heater, but planned on re-acquiring it in the next year or two, I’d keep the P228. ------------------------------------------------ Charter member of the vast, right-wing conspiracy

Always buy, never sell... I've sold two guns in my life and I regret both of them. I'd like to get them back if I could. One was a 3913 and the second was a Colt officers model 1911. I was much younger when I made both those mistakes.

Does that mean that you’re now older & wiser? Or does it mean that you now hoard a bunch of unused shit?

Keep the M11-A1, sell the 228 to me. -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

I'd get rid of the P228. It's old, a relic, and should be retired. I have a boat that I could store it on for you
