I've got a question that I hope you all can help with. I own a P228 that has some minor wear and shoots great. I also bought a M11-A1. Why did I buy M11-A1 when I already had a nice P228? It's a Sig that I didn't have, need I say more???
I would like to sell one or the other but I am contemplating keeping both. Any thoughts on the subject? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Altum,

You appear to have answered your own question, and it is the correct answer.

You forgot the 3rd choice, sell both. Come on, man, going on a gun forum and wonder if you should sell one or the other, or maybe keeping both? Are you insane?
Btw, when did SIG start making the Abrams?

I think that you should keep both and buy an extra...
Wait, what was the question again???

BTW, I really liked your factoid post on the P228, I bookmarked it to look up the details of mine, thanks!
LOL, thanks for the Abrams comment! I know it was a loaded question, most will say keep both...

Cool. I always wanted a modern MBT. But alas, no politely discreet place to park such a behemoth.
To begin with, I have to ask about the motivation for wanting to sell either. Just because? Don't need both? Could use the cash? Fund another purchase?
EDIT: oh I see you've fixed it...

If you must sell one, be it the M11-A1. Keep the original P228..

At this point, after all the replies, shouldn't you be shopping for a bigger boat?

You know you want that nice new gun, not the old worn out one. Shoot me a line and I'll let you know where to send the P228.

No one mentioned it, but you have 2 different guns there.
One is a 229 that takes -1 mags and the other takes the original 13 rounders. The frame on the M11 is bigger.

The frame of the M11A1 (P229) is not bigger. Only the magwell on the P229 is made wider (by shaving off the internal surface a little) to accommodate the 229-1 magazine. External dimensions are same as the P228, however.

Please keep both pistols and by another SIG.

In the current environment, I'd be hesitant to sell any guns unless it was really critical to generate some money. It may take a long time for the industry to recover from the current surge.
As to the current environment, new M11’s seem to be readily available and at near-normal prices - ie somewhat inconsistent with other Sigs.
You might keep that in mind as you finalize a decision.

In my area, I think guns sales have leveled off if not started to slow gradually. I'm seeing full gun cases again and Glocks at MAP again, e.g., Gen5 G17/19/45 for $539.
Speculation here, but I think the cost & demand for ammo has gotten so high that a lot of potential buyers are reluctant to buy guns they can't find or afford ammo for.
