I have owned several nice Colts and a very sweet Ed Brown Kobra Karry but when the sig nightmare came out it was everything I wanted in a 1911/45 for 1/3 the price of the EB so I bought it and sold the EB and the one Colt I still owned.
The only negative thing about is the damn fat slide which sucks for holster compatibility.

But then I bought a Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm and feel the DW is a better value for the money.

I am happy with the Sig Nightmare in 45 but had I discovered the DW’s first I would have a DW 45.
The Sig is good enough and I bought it when they first came out so i paid a premium price so i will just keep it and call it good but knowing what i know now it would be DW all day long.

I also bought one not long after they came out. Mine was a lemon, as I was shooting it the first time it locked up. I had to disassemble the gun to ensure the chamber was clear. Sent it back to Sig and the frame was out of spec. They eventually sent me a new one and I wound up selling it to a friend.

That is a very nice looking pistol, and my favorite size for a 1911.

I own it's distant ancestor, the GSR Carry, and it is the nicest 1911 I own. Fit, finish and trigger are top notch.

My favorite local dealer had a Nightmare in the display case, right after I had broken the piggy bank to buy two pistols from him within a week or so of one another.

I couldn’t convince myself to “raid the pig” even further to buy that Nightmare, but to this day I wish I had done it.

If I remember right, it was offered at $750… a WAY better price than I can find now, even on a used one.

I like it and would definitely pick one up if I come across it at one of my LGS'

I picked up a S&W E-series after handling 6 or so different 1911's, as that's the one that felt nicest in my hand. When I was handling the guns, they didn't have and fastback 1911's, so I couldn't comment on how it would feel compared to the Smith, but I definitely liked the Smith better than the Sig 1911x that I handled.

I have one, and it’s been very accurate, never had any issues with t at all. I liked it so much, I picked up another fastback carry that I happened to find as used, but it was like new, that one was also accurate and no issues.
I think Sig did a really good job with their 1911 line.

very nice and accurate. the texture on the front of the grip is very aggressive and not pleasant after a few mags but worth the money at the right price
