That is my instinct also, can anyone tell me what their experience is with Sig customer services, have never had to use them before. I've had to return a couple firearms to manufacturers in the past where it hasn't been good, i.e. the gun came back the same as it went in, "the gun is withing spec", etc.

This!! I believe Sig is very picky about having someone else working on it. May void the warranty.

In particular, a P210A Target?

Yes. Ammo was Blazer 115 gr. and Speer 147 gr.

In answer to someone else's question, nobody else shot it, but I'm going on 60 and have owned dozens of handguns and have never had one this bad with so many different issues. Have two other Sigs with no issues. I know some here don't like to hear this happening, but as I said it is what it is. My Kel-Tec Sub2000 I also had with me yesterday ran like a top compared to this POS.

Did you clean and lube it?

Yes it was cleaned and lubed, and had a lot of oil on it when I got it.

Good point, I'll have to look into that.

I believe the majority of members here have had very good experience with SIG factory service. The guns are usually returned in less than two weeks.

Call SIG on Monday.

Will do, sir. Good to hear of the positive factory experiences. Initially I thought maybe give it time in case it was a break in issue (my P226 had a few hiccups initially) but on further consideration this is WAAY beyond that. Pretty disconcerting to get several different failures in one mag.

I will. No doubt it is an outlier but people need to be aware there are US 210s like this.

The FTFs were strange, the top round was hitting the feed ramp way low.

I had a similar experience with my X Carry. First ace pp rounds were a nightmare. It wouldn’t go into battery it had double feeds and several failures to eject. In fact it had every possible failure I could imagine.

Then after about 100 rounds it smoothed out and now runs like a top. It’s pretty awesome plus I got some practice resolving a multitude of failures of every sort. In the end, I find it to be a great pistol.

My 2 experiences were very good. Quick and easy.

Paul7, were it mine, Cabela's "gunsmith" would not even be touching it. How many non factory gunsmiths do you suppose have training on SIG P210s, and a stock of replacement parts in case any are needed? Outside of Bruce Gray, I suspect that number approaches Zero.
I would contact SIG directly. I've had good luck with SIG Customer Service. They will send you a shipping label, etc. You'll likely have your gun back within 2-3 weeks, with whatever the issue is, properly addressed.

Speaking of "people need to be aware there are US 210s like this", years ago I had to send one of my Swiss P210s back to SIG for warranty repair. Many years later, a German P210 Legend went back to SIG for repair. So, from personal experience,I can report that it is not just the US version that may need to go back for warranty work. Strangely perhaps, the Swiss and German P210s are the only SIGs I've ever needed to send in for any issues. Please let us know if SIG is able to resolve the issue for you.

Cabela's said they send defective guns from all their stores to a private gunsmith, don't have the name handy, and that they are usually able to resolve these issues. Anyone have an opinion on this?

I purchased a P210A from Cabelas last month. Before we did the paperwork the clerk said if there is anything wrong with it Sig has to be contacted. The sale will be final.
No issues with mine...

OK, that's different from what my local Cabela's told me.

Maybe I'll give it another try and see what happens, there's no rush to send it back to Sig.

I will definitely let everyone know how this turns out, I'll tell Sig know we're all anxiously awaiting their response. Smile

I can tell you that is NOT normal when buying a new weapon.
Ask yourself why on earth Cabela's, or any other retailer, would want to even be involved, because I can't think of a single reason, not one. If it's simply a customer satisfaction angle, that doesn't make sense. As noted, the odds of them having a "guy" that knows SIG P210's (or in their case, every gun they sell) well is, pretty much approaching 0.

Mind you, this "private gunsmith" would be manufacturer certified on every brand they sell, so as not to void warranties, yeah, uh huh.

I forgot the name, but they said it's a big operation that all their stores use. Who knows.
