Well after several years of not owning a Sig I am returning to the fold. Short bio I am a retired LEO that started out with revolvers, then Berettas, then Glocks, and 1911s on the SRT team. Was in a LOD shooting with my Glock and lived to tell about it and I trust them. My current EDC was a Glock 43XMOS until 5 days ago. I am left-handed and had been wearing the 43X in a appendix type carry. I have been having problems with the shield arms magazines being ejected by pressure on their mag catch caused my belt. This didn’t happen with the factory mags. I was disgusted that I could only rely on 10 round mags. My retirement job is at a gun shop as an instructor and sales. One of my coworkers handed me his SigP365XL and told me to go try it. It was truly a eureka moment. I shot it faster and more accurately. A light came down from the heavens and I heard Angels singing. I went back upstairs and bought one. After several days of shooting it a lightbulb lit up in my head. Grip angle! I have been carrying Glocks so long I had forgotten the grip angle that causes the Glock to naturally point a little high. Of course I compensated but the neutral grip angle of the P365xl really made a difference. The only thing I’m going to change is getting the FDE grip module. Man I love this pistol. Did you have the metal mag release with the shield mags, or were you using the plastic Glock mag release?

Well, that's the capacity of the magazines supplied by the manufacturer. You're unhappy because an aftermarket gadget was unsatisfactory. How is that anything to be disgusted by? Glock was manufacturing service-sized pistols with 17 round magazines when 15 rounds was standard from other manufacturers. They were manufacturing compact 9mm pistols with 15 round magazines when 12 or 13 was the capacity in like-sized pistols from other manufacturers. If Glock could have engineered reliable magazines for the 43X with a capacity greater than 10 rounds, don't you think they would have done so?

While what you’re saying may be true, Glock hasn’t updated their magazine engineering since their inception except for making them metal lined and drop free. I’m not bashing Glock but praising Sig. BUT, if SA can manufacture a 15 round mag in the same amount of space Glock could also. My SA mags run fine and I never had a problem running them or carrying in other locations. I blame the mag catch orientation as much on the three holsters as on the interface between mag catch and mag. When carrying left handed on this rig the mag catch is facing forward towards my belt, not against my skin like a right handed person. My belt presses the catch which ejects the mag. Not good for a carry gun. Possibly if I could find a thicker kydex it wouldn’t happen. But try finding a left hand 43xMOS with a Streamlight TLR7sub light holster. I think Glock hasn't done a lot to alter their magazine design because it works exceptionally well. Glock magazines are an integral part of a very reliable system. That said, my Shield mags work very well in the G43X and G48; I also use the metal magazine release. The P365 series has turned out to be an outstanding system. I pocket carry my P365's, which largely fill the same role that snub nose revolvers did for me, not long ago. Regardless of what else I may be carrying, I generally put a P365 in my pocket in a DeSantis pocket holster.

I have a G43X w/ S15 mags. I think it's a great carry gun, but... I find I shoot my P365 better than my G43X, so I picked up a P365XL earlier this week. I plan to get some Magguts +2 adapters, so w/ the P365XL, I get better muzzle velocity and longer sight radius in a smaller, more concealable package and w/ the Magguts only lose one round to the G43X.

A G19 mos Gen 3,4 & 5 holds 15 rounds in the standard magazine. You can toss in a G17 mag that holds 17 rounds. There's also the 31 and 33 round options. If you want a Glock that holds more rounds than 10, you're going to have to buy a bigger Glock. I've tried the Pierce extensions on my G-21 (duty gun), they took a shit on me the 1st range trip, and don't trust them. Others may have had better experiences, and other magazine extensions may work, but that's all trial and error. People here have used and tried out some that work, and some that don't. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. I'm a Glock fan, but agree they could probably do little redesign on the mags.
