MPX, SB Brace and Length?

Why is the SIG MPX pistol with the buffer tube and SB Brace just under 26 inches? It is still a pistol but is there a reason they made the pistol with the buffer tube less than 26 inches?

SIG Sauer's website lists it as 25.75 inches.
