Got mine yesterday. $2499 OTD and worth every penny to an HK fanatic such as myself. I figure I'll pick another one up once they hover to $2100 once the first wave is fulfilled. Just in time to watch Die Hard on Xmas Eve.

Oh, and I also scored a vintage box for my W. German Nickel P226 and a Nickel mag. A great Christmas indeed.

Great price on the HK compared to the crazy GB prices. Was that from a local shop ?

Yes, from a pawn shop in AR that also is a premier dealer. I called a ton of places a week and a half ago when HK announced this. Ironically some of the bigger "chains" are jacking prices north of $3K.

The fit/finish and quality are outstanding. Beautiful weld lines, DE markings, etc.

What's more laughable is that detail has no bearing on 98% of gun owners whatsoever who will ever own an SP5, so I question the actual importance.

Plenty of HK94s/SP89s/Clones/etc to convert if necessary.

If I owned a registered full auto sear for an MP5 type of firearm, I would most likely be very interested in owning an/another HK product as a sear host.

'IF' is the key word here. People bitching about a $2500 gun certainly dont have a $30k sear, and the ones that do may have a gripe if they couldn't use the SP5 as a sear host. But then they prob have a German HK94 converted by RDTS or TSC Machine for their sear so I find it a moot point.

^^^^^wow I have heard that it was near impossible to make the new ones full auto. I held one at my LGS yesterday and it was very well built as expected. Almost bought it though timing is not right currently with Christmas and all. I’ll get one hopefully this spring.

Apparently not. Must be the For Rectal Use Only modification he has done to it.

The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad.
If we got each other, and that's all we have.
I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand.
You should know I'll be there for you!

TSC Machine has done it without modifying factory block allegedly, which is awesome.

BTW, love the Underoath avatar- great album and I work out at the same gym as the singer Spencer down here in St Pete, FL!

Two different HK/roller lock gunsmiths have converted the new HK SP5 gun into full auto(using a legal registered sear), with no modifications to the original receiver. I don't know if the two different 'smiths used the same "formula", or there are two different approaches. We should be finding out soon.

The conversion done by one of the 'smiths not only works well with the HK SP5, but also with the MKE/Zenith Z5RS
