Just picked up an as new .22LR PPK/S from a dealer in Missouri. Out of my many PP series Walther’s, this one is starting to become my favorite. Installed a set of NOS Altamont grips last night which really set it off. It came with the plastic thumb rest grips which did not do it justice.

PPK/S models are really becoming my favorite models over the PPK offerings. That is a good thing since I cannot afford a .22 LR cal. PPK anyway.

Between thisPPK/S and a similar condition .22 cal PP, I now have four of the high priced magazines (and one Triple K mag that works very well).

Very nice purchase, enjoy those 22lr rounds plinking away at cans or targets.

Slight hijack. Is the double-action pull on older .22LR PPs just as ghastly heavy as it is on the current production .22 PPK/S? Every new .22LR version of that gun that we've had come through the shop from Walther has had a hideously heavy DA trigger pull.

Nice looker with those grips, btw.

Just checked.

11# 5 oz on double action and quite smooth.

1# 5 oz and smooth on single action

I very rarely use double action. When I came in the Michigan State Police in 1966, we were trained to use single action only with our revolvers. I always use single action on my hammer fired auto loaders if possible. Before everyone goes crazy, this is just like a 1911 and BHP.

When we transitioned to Sig Sauer 226 and 228 9mm in 1989, most of us old timers were still shooting these for the first shot, single action.

I even enjoy my Polish P64, 9x18 by shooting single action first. I use the same manual of arms on my various FEG pistols.

I just sit back and smile when I read about all the heart ache with strong double action first shot issues.

Your mileage may very,

Thanks for the info. I'm certain that the current production pistol is more like 14 lbs, or maybe even heavier. Tough (at least for me) to pull smoothly without jerking the muzzle all over the place downrange. Frown
