Some Giant Constrictor Snakes in Florida weigh up to 200 pounds! Smile

A 410 derringer is a little light for those, too.

About 2 decades ago I had an American Derringer in .357. I shot it 4 times and sold it. It was not fun to shoot!

I have a few SIGs.

Well if you live in FL, you should probably tote a 10 gauge with you at all times. Smile I guess I was overly broad in my statement, though, basing it mostly on my experience with AZ rattlesnakes. BTW, I agree with ibanda. I have owned (only briefly) a Bond Arms in .45 Colt/.410. They are painful to shoot the .410, and only unpleasant with the .45 Colt.

I was just joking about a derringer for snakes in Florida. 000 buck might work, but there are better choices.

As for the .410/.45 Colt barrel, I've previously mentioned that shooting a Bond Ranger with 3" 000 buckshot is the most painful handgun that I have ever fired. In the previously posted video, you'll notice that Hickok45 is using 2 1/2" shells in the heavier "Texan" model.

I like the 10mm barrel with DoubleTap Ammo's Equalizer load (hollow point loaded on top of a lead ball). You can make four holes in 2x4 without reloading with that setup!

Bought my Bond 45/410 3" for snakes of all types. I use skeet loads and they work well out to 7-10 yards. Keep it in my truck most of the time. Doesn't do me much good sitting at home.

I have a Bond in .357 that is "un-molested". Contact me if you just can't live without one.

A bit off topic of the thread, but speaking of shooting snakes....I recently chatted with a long-time local, who said you can easily shoot a rattlesnake with a rifle (.22 or larger). When you point it at the snake, it sort of "charms" the snake and it sticks its head up right in front of the barrel. I have not verified this yet. Wink
