Paddles are the best. Never seen anyone accidentally drop a mag using paddles. Plus I like the ability to use a bunch of finger combinations to utilize it. That being said, holy shit German people, you made a love baby part Ruger lcp max and part Taurus. Ugly doesn’t cover it.

For what it's worth there are two members on the HK forum, the admin and a moderator from Germany, that have shot the SFP9CC and the CC9. They both said on a gun this size they preferred the button mag release of the CC9 over the paddle release on the SFP9CC. It was easier to reach.

Having both Sigs and HKs my experience is that the HKs show less wear with scratches and holster wear (except with the slide release on HK45s ). If so it could be one of the things worth paying for.

Thank you for this intel. I just bought the lady a VP9sk. As a new shooter I want her to have the same MOA to make things simple, easy. I told her about the CC9 for purse carry as the VP9sk will be her full size gun (she is 5’3”). So this is excellent news. I can wait on the CC9 since she needs 6 months on the VP9sk.

The CC9 has a bit of trigger travel but the pull and break are fairly light. Make sure she/everybody uses a rigid sided holster or compartment (with nothing else in it) when purse/bag/fanny pack etc. carrying.

I thank you for the PSA but I’ve been literally looking at the cheaper kydex stuff to put in there and hang it. No firearms of hers would be “slid” in there with the trigger guard exposed. No thanks!

I could get past the hideous looks if it had a paddle mag release. I don't think I see one in my future.

Well as much as being artificially limited in capacity sucks and it certainly sucks and is bullshit, the 10 round flat floorplate mags work really well at both concealment and shooting control. It really is a good 10 round gun.

I’ve always been a HK fan and I really wanted to like it, but the grip feels like a bar of soap in a steamy prison shower.

Excellent write up - thanks! You covered about everything I was wondering on with this new HK. I haven't found one to hold in hand yet but, I'll likely just order one and get on with it.

I was looking for something just a tad bigger than the 365 which sees most of the off duty ccw time now . I'm an HK fan and would've found the paddle to be just fine but, I can live with the push button release just as well, seeing as how that's what I mostly use when carrying.

Do they come with two 10rd mags, one 10/one 12, or just one magazine and you have to go track down the others?

You should get a 10 and a 12 in your free state.

There are models that come with a 10 round flat baseplate and a 12 round small pinky grip baseplate as well as a model with 2 10 rounders one with a flat baseplate one extended.

I have medium sized Guy hands and the flat baseplate 10 rounded is just long enough for me to get all my fingers on barely.
