...it is in excellent shape. I saw it at the local range, had to have it, an impulse buy of course. Sig is still in the penalty box as for newer guns (I had a bad experience recently) but older Sigs, why not? I did purchase a police trade-in 226R Stainless as well but it has not arrived yet. This 220 trigger feels great btw, practically brand new it seems.

Congratulations on your new Sig P220.

I hope it shoots as good as it looks. It should.

Great pistol. Still better than the HK45 or CZ97.

Really nice looking old school P220. In case you're interested, SIG Custom Shop will have their 'Father's Day Special' coming up soon where they offer the Full Service package, with night sights, for $99. It's a real bargain. I just picked up a an '83 P220 I'll be sending in when the special starts.

sorry for the thread drift.

For anyone who has not taken advantage of this deal, do so, you will not be disappointed. I have had the service performed on three Sigs and it is a bargain, IMO.

Back to the P220 thread. Smile

It was not cheap, especially for an early 90s gun. It was $660 out the door but was listed at $699 as well. Just depends on hat they have into the gun. I have seen other W German and German Sigs but so ver beat up. This has to be the cleanest one I have seen.

Cool, thanks. This one was mint and complete as well and a bit more than I've seen them sell at. They're not making more of them, right?

The two letter date code on the underside of the slide up by the muzzle starting with a K prefix will tell you the year.

Sig still makes the 220, I have a Sig 220 Elite Dark that I purchased NIB about 5 years ago. Rock solid 220 but I think Sig stopped making that variant as well.

I paid $700 for an as-new W German 220 a while back. Maybe a bit high but like you said they don't make them (like that) anymore.

gunguru, that is a nice one! I had a spur hammer P220 just like it. Totally reliable with any ball or hollow point ammo I used, and never any issue of any kind. I know the American SIGs with rails, tails, designer colors, cool model names are all the rage, but the German guns remain my favorites. Well done sir.
