I was able to take my 320 X5 out to the range yesterday. The trigger has broken in a bit after dry firing and the range. It is breaking at 3.75 pounds fairly consistently. Over all the trigger is the least impressive aspect of the gun. I may order the Grayguns Pelt trigger for it and see how this improves the feel. Has anyone else ordered the Pelt trigger for the X5 yet or have it installed?

Here are a couple of my best groups from the X5 yesterday and a couple of the gun for good measure. I didn't have the opportunity to run it out past 21 feet. Both groups are 10 shots at 21 feet.

I installed a straight PELT on mine. Had some issues but got it straightened out. A bit lighter and crisper. Hope it takes care of the trigger sting.

Interesting that your trigger pull weight is 3.75 lbs, where I see others report quite heavier pull.

I have an analog Wheeler gauge by no means a calibrated instrument. I pull from near the bottom. My buddy got one and his pulls 4.25 - 4.50 pounds measured from the same spot. Maybe mine is a fluke.

Very nice.

Good shooting. These things are really interesting to me.

I'm curious as to the mechanical accuracy of these guns. Anybody shot one at 25 meters, with rest, Ransom or handheld?

Patrick Franks of the AMU practical shooting team posted some very small groups recently. One I saw looked to be about 3/4" or better at 25. Our original intention was to get a sub-2" fifty yard gun. These will do it.

Keeping in minds that I am by no means a good shot, was shooting my X-5 for the first time, that my trigger was binding a little bit and that on this target I wasn't aiming at a specific point because there isn't one I shot these two groups on this 'bad guy' target.

The upper group was at roughly 20 yards while resting my wrists over a sandbag, the lower was at about 12 yards offhand unsupported.

The only pistol I have that I might shoot better is my P226RX SAO, which seems to allow me to put it all together, has an amazing trigger and the advantages of the ROMEO1.

IMHO the X-5 is potentially a very accurate pistol, and an easy one to shoot for novice shooters like myself.

Good info Bruce. With my X5 trigger already being in the 3.75# possibly 4# range would I still see a reduction in trigger pull weight with the Pelt trigger?

Thanks for that info Bruce.

Will these be made with the new slide lock and fenced grip module?

Hi! Thank you for asking me. Yes, of course. The X5's trigger geometry yields an approximate 6 pound, 5 ounce pull based upon our observations here at GGI. Two new X5's I tested today broke at that weight, as yours probably would if the pull were measured parallel to the frame and slide, and at the centre of the trigger guard space, with a proper electronic gauge, just as we do it.

In comparison, the stock P320 trigger pull weighs around 7.5 pounds. For many shooters, the X5's slightly reduced pull is just fine for their shooting style; I can shoot freakish scary little groups with one right out of the box.

But, I can run one with our PELT-S better, faster, with more assurance and less effort. And with our full CELTS (competition enhanced leverage trigger service) featuring our machined EDM safety cam sear and cam plate setup at around 4 pounds, I can go nuts.

But, I'd run yours stock for a while, and learn it well the way it is. The new X5 is a great pistol that we're all justifiably proud of. Go shoot, and get back to us? Thanks again.

Hiya! You're very welcome.

The X5's come with an extended version of the Gen 2 forward-swept slide lock lever, which is perfect. We designed the grip module in such a way that the slide lock levers sit below the level of the side panels, and do not require fences to keep the shooter from insulting them while firing. The X-module can thus accept all three slide lock lever designs without drawbacks.

Are X5 grip modules available in different sizes, (S,M,L) or are they all one size?

Large hands here.

Thanks!

I am to understand that size variations are in the works.

Mr. Gray,

Does your fat guide rod fit the x5 variant?

Is there some sort of positive stop for the magazines?

I've experienced overseating of 17 rd mags in smaller frame guns that ties up the gun and it looks like this might {?} Occur with the flared mag well unless there is a stop inside.

Bruce; Any plans to make a snap-on magazine adapter, that is, one that could be left on the pistol? The current ones can't really, as they slip down the magazine box.

A buddy just got a P320X5 and loaned it to me to evaluate... I'm actually quite disappointed to be honest. Looking at it side by side with my P320 Full size literally the only thing I like better about the X5 is the rear sight. I have a Heinie rear and Dawson Precision front sight on my standard P320 so the front sights are the same.

The trigger isn't any better in the X5, the frame on the standard feels better than the X5 to me. The grip on the X5 is way too boxy and I don't seem to be able to get as high on the backstrap because of the thicker, longer beavertail. The slide and barrel are the same length. The fact that you can't use un-modified 17rnd P320 magazines also sucks, like WTH SIG???

The rear sight on the X5 is awesome though. I can't see paying $400 for a rear sight and a mag well.

I'll put a few rounds through my full size, standard P320 and the P320X5 this weekend and see if I can tell any difference actually shooting them but at this point I'm pretty disappointed in SIG. I think I would have been happier with the vaporware P320 "Target" shown at the 2016 SHOT show than I am so far with the X5.

Sorry Bruce. I'm actually a SIG nut, I have 19 of them at this point including a couple rifles but I have to be honest with my first impressions.

Will an X5 slide work on a standard, full sized P320 frame/trigger?
