In looking at X-Grips website, it states as follows regarding Mec-Gar’s P226 magazine: “Compatible with SIGSAUER factory original German manufactured P226 magazines with 43mm floorplates. If you have the newly redesigned magazine or Mec-Gar magazine with the longer protruding metal floorplate, you can grind it down from the 45mm length to the 43mm length of the original German design.” I have some Mec-Gar P226 magazines I bought by mistake that I was going to use in my P229 chambered in 40 S&W. “No problem, I thought, I’ll just get some X-Grip adapters.” However, that won’t work unless I grind down the floorplate. That seems a non-starter as it is just inviting rust. So, does anyone know of something similar to X-Grip that will work on a Mec-Gar P226 magazine for a pistol chambered in 40 S&W? My Google has struck out. Thanks! __________________________

Isn't the 228/229 (original 'non -1' 9MM) and the 226 mags all the same width? But then comes the wider 229 (40/357sig) mag. So a 226 mag would be a little loose fitting in the larger 229 40/357sig frame? (Same as putting a non -1 mag in a 229-1 frame)
