I much prefer the original P320 X5 over the Legion. I feel the Legion is way too heavy. I feel the X5 is balanced better. I do prefer the trigger on the Legion. Overall though, I would prefer the original. I'm kinda bummed it's been discontinued. Finding an original for sale is tough too. Your thoughts?
I recently had this conundrum. Wanted to get back to a Sig and wanted an X5. Found out I was a few years too late. I agree - the Legion is too heavy for me and the cost right at $1k is a deterrent. The x5 stickered below that and offered a lot for the dollar. I also like black guns - no FDE, yote or whatever. So I started down the path of finding the parts and building one. I found a stripped X5 slide at MGW but the cost to build just was not palatable. Another thing that bothered me about the X5 and Legion was the weird top plate. I would prefer to have a rear sight and optic and both those don't do that very well.
I settled on a full size with an optic cut with X series grip. I will admit, I am not a fan of Sig red dots. I prefer RMRs so I was not looking for an optic included pistol either. I went to my local GT and found a P320F Pro (W320F-9-BXR3-LDC-PRO). Did not know it even existed as they are LE only and there is not much about them out there. But it offered the feature set I was looking for. It is X5'esq, has a top plate only, Sig flat trigger, and retains a rear dovetail and is drilled for a Romeo, DP and RMR.
It is not a true X5 but it is close as I could get within reason.

Nice find Gordy. That looks pretty much close to the X5. The only differences I could see from a quick glance are 4.7 inch barrel (5 inch on X5), No internal weight, no magwell and no lightning cuts. I too live close to a GT location here in Austin. It's a great source.

GT called to let me know that the LE model was no longer available to order and was discontinued. I did find one much cheaper via another vendor in Oklahoma. Also, GT moved from Austin to Pville. Bigger store probably closer to me now. I added a Sig magwell, Apex trigger bar (well worth it), CH Precision RMR plate, RMR RM06, GGI mag release (a must, curves in with the thumb), GGI fat guide rod, GGI mag base pads (so the 17 rounders will seat), and drove to Dawson for some suppressor sights and fiber front.
It is a fantastic package and exactly what I wanted to buy/build.
