rrowenjrNeed help with info on this P226
P226-357-S-Cont SN: U726-xxx
Stainless P226 in a blue box. Never fired after factory test. Magazines in plastic wrapper, 10 rd.
Does anyone have any manufacture information for this pistol?

12131A single “S” in the Part Number tells you it’s all stainless. You have the gun, so you already know that.
“Cont” = Contrast sights
That serial number points to year 2005 production, according to the serial number thread stickied on top of this forum.

P220 SmudgeOur serial number list puts the production date somewhere in early 2006.

That one serial for 2005 is from December, and it's 2,000 between it and the OP's pistol. Depending on how many they were making per month, it's close.

nhracecraftLikely production date in the 2005-2006 time frame, Frame 'Made in Germany' (perhaps the whole pistol?) and obviously chambered it .357 SIG.
Got pics? We need pics!

rrowenjrThank you. Any holster recommendations?
October 10, 2025, 01:24 PM
nhracecraftWhat is the use case for the holster...CCW (IWB or OWB?), Range use, Outdoor activities not focused on shooting, such as hiking, boating, etc? If CCW is the intended use, as the P226 S is not a light pistol, I'd suggest a quality holster in leather. Depending on how soon you want (need?) it, if it were me, I'd HIGHLY recommend the GS2 (Georgia Snap 2) OWB Holster from Ryan Grizzle:

sjtillI’m jealous. I’d love to have an all-stainless P226. Well, what I’d really like is a 226 SportStock.

rrowenjrCan you guys tell me anything about this version of the 226? Is it rare? Is she just a basic girl in stainless?
October 11, 2025, 05:59 PM
12131Yeah, it’s just an all stainless P226. Nothing extraordinary or even special about it.

ACP1An all stainless 226 is SPECIAL!

MacGyver^^^I’m with 12131 on this one. I would normally agree with you, especially since SIG doesn’t currently make a standard-size all-stainless P226 (only X-Fives these days). I’d also add that OP’s has a German frame, fewer MIM parts, and that it’s a “factory” .357 SIG example. All of those things are desirable (at least to me) and so it has a lot going for it. However, it’s still very unlikely that it would fetch an outlandish price if put up for sale. They’re not really rare.

David LeeTell you what OP, you'll never find another new one in any gun shop again, unless by chance a collector sales one and, especially in .357 Sig. Don't go collector on this excellent auto pistol. Shoot that baby and be proud. If you reload, do like I did and buy a couple wheel boarrows of once fired Speer brass. Those cheap bastards in New Hampshire are never again going to make us pistols of all stainless because alunnimonium is butter soft to cut accurately and takes no time to mill. Then there remains the factor that some think a all stainless side arm is just too heavy for carry. Just give a man a unsafe poly piece of crap like a 320 and a big mag of 9mm and all is good. Your P226 is a true P series Sig. That cartridge is a awsome round for defense. Shoot it and enjoy it. They won't come again.

jgerge222A fine classic Sig P226. All stainless, in a great caliber.
Sig certainly doesn't make em like that anymore. A definite keeper and relatively soft shooter. Never let it get away!
