I had sworn off .40's years ago, but couldn't resist these local Armslist deals. Both were CPO's. First was a no rail P226 for 350. Included were 3 mags, 3 nice holsters, extra Hogue rubber. 50 rounds fired by previous owner. Next is a P229r two tone with dark grey frame, blk slide. Not fired by the owner. $340. 2 mags, 2 holsters, 2 sets of grips. This one is in 99+ shape in and out. As an aside, I also grabbed an unfired Kahr K40 mint with Hogue wood, 2 holsters for 300. Now I can find ammo in case of another scare.. It's been a good gun month!

At those prices, I would venture into the 40 cal as well.
Good finds!

You can also pick up some 357 sig barrels for those.

I am not a fan of .40 S&W either, but I would have had a hard time passing up the deal on that P226. Nice finds!

Those are sweet deals
Those two pistols you bought are on my bucket list.
Not like I need another P229, since I have three but I never have found one in two tone.

Especially at those prices.
Those are insane.

Great find

40sw is a fine cartrige. Right now 40sw guns are sometimes 40% cheaper in the used case than 9 or 45acp. That makes them a hell of a deal.

I'm cheap. I like guns. I never could afford to swear off .40s.

Helpful hint: Keep your eye open for ammo deals now rather than just waiting for another scare. From time to time dealers will just up and decide that they've gotta move some inventory.

Everyone should have a .40 in the family, just because. It's an excellent choice and one I'd rather not be on the receiving end of. A 229 is the one gun that seems to be perfect for the .40. Congrats on a few nice finds.

The P226 and .40 are about as good a match for a duty carry gun you could ask for. I also have the no-rail .40 and it is accurate and smooth as butter. It shoots as lightly as a 9mm for rapid follow up shots. $350 is an outstanding price, especially considering all the extras. In fact, all of the deals mentioned are great deals. Kudos!

I don’t think anyone would turn up their nose at the .40’s capabilities. I just got back from the range shooting a new Enhanced Elite P229 in .40. A .357 barrel will soon bein it!

I had a chance to test the 226. It was only ten yards, but sights were dead on, pretty much chewing out the X. I'm sure the 229 will be similar. I love how finely fitted all of my Sigs have been. I might get the 357 barrel for the 226, but it's not going to be a carry gun. More of expanding the possible ammo availability in case things get weird. The comment on getting ammo before that happens was not lost on me.

Yeah, I would have bought one of those too I imagine.

Grabbed a P320C in .40 with three mags, box and all goodies - stock, of course - and it looked like it had a mag or two shot through it. I’m not exaggerating. There was more barrel wear after the 120 rounds I put through it later that afternoon than there was when I bought it. $299

I had been wanting one in .40 for cheap so there it was.
