Does anyone make ammo in 5.56 or 300 Blackout specifically designed to burn completely in a short barrel? I'm interested in supersonic, self defense ammo.

Anyone?

I don’t recall ever seeing ammunition whose factory specifications included burning all the powder in a specific barrel length, but Hornady has a supersonic 5.56mm NATO load that’s advertised as being optimized for short barrels. It’s claimed that it won’t foul suppressors, so that also suggests it does burn more of the powder in short barrels than more common loads.

In general I would expect 300 Blackout loads to burn their powder more efficiently and completely than the 5.56, but I’m just guessing about that.

That's what I ordered, in 110gr 300 Blackout. No mention of barrel length tested but it says optimized for rifle, pistol, and suppressor use. It looks like a good choice for SD ammo.
