BelwolfUnderwood 158gr .38 spl LSWCHP standard pressure experiences?
The "black cherry" coated round, cute. My research indicated most like this round. However, tests gleaned online focused on the +p version.
There seems to be confusion on what barrel length Underwood uses to test velocity.
Been using Federal Nyclads 125gr for carry in my Det. Specs and older j frames for years, but my hoard is thin now and, sadly, Nyclads are extinct.
I have a supply of the Buffalo Bore standard pressure FBI load but wondering how Underwood's version stacks up.

badguybusterI shoot a lot of underwood ammo. The 158s worked quite well from a 5" Smith but did not expand at all out of my 2" Kimber K6s.
The black cherry hard cast flat nose is a bad ass loading. I put down a cow for my neighbor with it
At 10 feet from a 3" barrel the round entered from between the eyes blew through the skull anf exited through the neck and then went into its left from leg, breaking the bone and exiting into the ground.Impressive as !@#$ for a 38 +p. I have also used it to put down several deer hit by cars.
For a carry round, the 125 and 135 graim Gold Dots in 38 +p are awesome
