What barrel do I need? Can I send a regular P220 barrel out to be threaded? Can I buy a threaded one from SIG that fits? Are there aftermarket options for this? It's my bedside gun and a fantastic shooter, but I'll never CCW it. So I might as well save my hearing if I need it in an emergency. What barrel and can to buy?

mostly out of curiosity I did a quick search of an available barrel and didn't see one. but you likely did that as well. Seems to me that leaves you with three options: 1. contact one of the aftermarket barrel makers and see if they will make you one. 2. Ask a gunsmith if the std. full size 220 barrel has enough room to be threaded. 3. Try the sig p220 threaded barrel. I have no idea what the extra barrel length will do to the operation of the gun suppressed or unsuppressed you would probably have to test that.

I am not sure if this is a viable option or not for your P220 but you might inquire about having the barrel threaded internally for an adaptor that you can then attach your suppressor to. I had that done for a Beretta 87 and it works well. I think mine was done by Tornado Technologies.

I also picked up a P220 threaded barrel, but haven't thought to test it in my Compact, and I'm still waiting on my stuff in NFA jail.

Of course, you could always call and ask SIG and see what they say.

I read on another forum that a guy bought a cheapo, used P220 barrel and sent it out to Adco and had them thread it for a can. Seems pretty cost effective. Bar-Sto seems pretty expensive.

I grabbed a like new full length P220 barrel and it works perfectly in my P220 Carry. But despite my previous post, it really looks like it doesn't have enough length for enough threads to take a can properly. I need to talk to the silencer pro at my LGS and maybe call Adco and see if they've really done this with success. May have to just get a factory threaded full length P220 barrel.

Do you own a set of calipers? You need .600 inches.

Just put my digital calipers on it and it looks like it's .540", so not good. And I wouldn't want it to be right up against the end of the slide anyway. Sigh.

I'd probably still call ADCO. they are terrific in my experience. I know what the spec says but maybe you actually don't need it to spec. Rimfire spec is less and you don't hear issues when people put some CF cans on rimfires...

Barsto will fix you up but has to be ordered

I installed a threaded barrel on a existing SIG P220. Barsto was excellent to deal with and the qualityof the barrel was very good. I do apolize for the later reply.

Change of plans. I stumbled upon a cheap stainless Bar-Sto P226 9mm barrel at a LGS yesterday ($125), so it's going in one of my P226s and I'm taking it to the range on Sat. My range is also a LGS and they sell silencers, so I'll use that barrel to shop.
