Just got my rugged micro 30 and the manual says no crush washer for the flash hider and use red locktite when attaching your flash hider muzzle device to the barrel. Yet their website says Teflon tape is ok to use to prevent walk off. I’m thinking locktite is probably more solid attaching.

Considered that as well but I figured I’d defer to the product that the manufacturer says to use.

Just use the lock tight.

Keep the teflon tape for plumbing.

They sell shims If you want to time the device. I timed my flash hider so that it doesn't direct gas to the ground.

I recently had a Thunder Beast muzzle brake loosen and turn off along with the suppressor that screws onto the brake. I believe I used blue LocTite originally, and probably not too much, which was obviously a mistake. The suppressor is not used with high volume fire, but LocTite is temperature sensitive, and perhaps the heat, blue version, and limited amount I used were enough to break the bond.

I reinstalled the brake with Rocksett.

They may be referring to direct-thread silencers, when suggesting the thread tape, to prevent walk-off. I have never heard of thread tape being suggested in the attachment of a muzzle device.

I have only ever used Rocksett on one muzzle device, and that was because the muzzle threads seemed a bit undersized. I have used Rocksett on multiple occasions, in the assembly of silencers that thread together. I've never had a muzzle deice try to come off a gun, but I have had silencers try to come apart. IMO, if you have a proper fixture, and can apply proper torque, a muzzle device doesn't need help.

sigfreund TB is pretty clear they want high temp locktite and with it I've had no issues.
From TB:
"We recommend Loctite 272 (high temp, high strength) for mounting our CB and BA series muzzle devices to rifle muzzle threads".

Rocksett is great but what I personally hate is the effort required to undo it, whereas red locktite just takes a specific amount of heat.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind for the next time, although I tell myself that removing the muzzle devices will be someone else's problem.
