Ok. First centerfire can I’ve ever owned. PTR Vent Spiritus. Took it to range today for first outing.
I need to buy some Rokset. The HUB adapter kept loosening up prior to range day so I used blue loctite (all I could find) and took two wrenches and torqued it down. Then I painted multiple index marks around the can so I could tell if anything was walking. It turned out nothing moved but I might take it apart and rokset it anyway.
Fired it off a 10.5 LWRCi pistol.
I have been reading gassy comments for years. I got gassed out. Very gassy. Gas this gas that. This can markets itself as a low back pressure can. I never even got a whiff of anything above what shooting an AR produces. So I think the low back pressure stuff is accurate. Did a bunch of double taps, fairly fast shooting, no mag dumps. No gas that I noticed at all.
I have only seen other people shoot centerfire cans. So I had no idea what to expect behind the gun. This thing is quiet. Both my buddy and I ended up shooting without ears just to see what it sounded like. It was pleasant. It felt like you could have shot without ear pro. I know hearing loss is progressive so I won’t do this but I think it would be ok for short firing schedules which made me very happy.
I have read this but I was amazed at how hot this thing got. My welding gloves came in handy. Overall I was very pleased. I think my buddy is buying a can now. lol.

That's how it starts

People are curious at the range when they see suppressors. I hand them a short mag and ask if they want to send a few rounds. I get the same reaction every time, they hand it back with a big smile and "I got to get one of those!"
