Okay, I've seen some discussion on moving and suppressors, but what about SBRs?

If I change the city where I live, in the same state, do I have to have the SBRs re-engraved? What about if I move out of state?

All of my items are in a trust.

You don’t need to change the engraving. The engraving denotes where it was made, and it was made only once.

Yep, engravings don't change. And again, the ATF only needs to be notified when an SBR or SBS crosses state lines, whether that be to travel or because you're moving. You file a 5320.20 a month or so ahead of time and you're golden. Sure, if you move across town, they'd like to be updated, but you're not legally required to.

My understanding also. You can technically move about your state freely, but need to notify ATF if you're going to another state. You must be careful of that OTHER STATE'S laws though. So I understand if I go back to il, MY PREVIOUS home, I cannot bring my suppressors as i am not allowed to own or have suppressors nor SBR's in IL (yet - still in SCOTUS) HOPEFULLY the new administration and Congress will clear all this up. And we can all pray the new "government" will do away with NFA 34 for everything but machine guns. Those, too, shouldn't be "regulated" but it may be easier to swallow the "piecemeal" destruction of the ATF than just wipe it out - baring legal precedent.

I get and agree that its not legally required, but what possible reason would you have not to notify the ATF of your correct address for an NFA item? I must be missing something.

The only states I'd ever move to are free states, ha ha! Planning on staying in SC, or possibly TN many years down the line. Just may move to another ZIP Code/town in SC. But thanks for the info!

Absolutely right about the "piecemeal".

I was really asking about the engraving.

Speaking of which - I move to a new town, notify the ATF of the change. When I want to build a new Form 1 item (SBR), I now have to have it engraved in the new town, because that's where it is built. Right?

Yes, but it’s not engraved “in” the place where it’s made. The engraving has to specify where it was made, but the actual engraving can be done anywhere.
