I recently acquired my first suppressor, a Huxwrx Flow 9K for my 9mm PDW. It came with the spring, piston, and hub for pistols. The question is which pistol, out of these, to buy a threaded barrel for first. Glock 43X Gen 6 G45 Sig P226 Sig P228 As well, what barrel manufacturer do you recommend? This will be for plinking and the range. I'm new to the game and wasn't sure where to start. Thank you for your suggestions. | ||

Easy. Get a G19 barrel first (and a G17 barrel while you're at it because why not). https://www.bearcreekarsenal.c...itride-threaded.html Glock says it won't fit, but I can tell you it does. I already had it for my others, and since you have a bunch of Glocks it'll fit, this is a good one to have anyway. I know, Bear Creek Arsenal is supposed to be shit, but I've put a couple thousand rounds through this one and it's been great. The finish isn't amazing, but I truly do not care. It can't be beat for the price. I bought a Ballistic Advantage G17 threaded barrel and could've bought one of these, a G17, and a G22 9mm conversion barrel for what I paid for the BA, which has a tight chamber and I've had to hammer open with stuck brass in the chamber three or four times now. Proof it fits:  The P226 and P228, you can buy threaded barrels from Sig, but they're M13x1 (IIRC) and reverse thread, so you'll have to buy another piston to fit. Or. Buy the Silencerco barrel that's 1/2x28 threaded so you don't have to pull apart your can to move it around, which is my recommendation. I know they make a 226 barrel because I have one and it has been great. I don't know offhand if they make a 228 barrel. The G43X, I don't have a recommend yet. I will be doing that as well probably soon. Thank you Sir. I can certainly handle $40 for a threaded barrel.  Already ordered it. As well, thank you for the Sig advice; I'd be more inclined to get a barrel for the P226.  | |||

Happy to help.  I think you'll enjoy shooting all of them suppressed, honestly, but the full size stuff for starters is a little easier to deal with when you're first getting used to hanging a can off the front of the gun. Personally, I find my 43X to be a pretty snapper shooter, so shooting it suppressed may tame it down quite a bit. Well, one thing to note about 43/48 threaded barrels that I did not know or realize until I got one and tried to mount a few different cans on it: they are often narrower barrels that require small shoulder mounts. This was both news to me, and new to me. Unfortunately, my Shivs will not work on this gun bone stock, which is saddening because I think it would be an interesting combo, and one that could actually potentially be carried concealed with a custom holster and some effort to dress around it. I typed that paragraph before I heard back from Matt at Stealth Additive. He says they have used True Precision and Faxon barrels in their personal 43X's and they're long enough and have a standard shoulder register, sent me pics of his setup to compare. So, I'm going to send back this XTS barrel and get a Faxon instead. They're like, $105 this weekend, so I ordered a Faxon.
