mesabiForm 4 (individual) e-filed on 28 April, approved 30 April, picked-up on 2 May. (Rugged Mustang)

hrcjonForm 4 individual. 5/8 to 5/19 so a bit worse than has been my recent experience. However I spent so much time in the years wait era that I find that perfectly fine.

kimberkidI’m not sure if I want to SBR my Ruger Challenger or not, I’m tempted to because it’s free but then I have to get permission to take it out of state.

VgexI thought they were doing away with that nonsense in the last rule change info dump. It's irrelevant to me as I'm 6 hours from leaving TX in any direction, but I thought I heard something when they dropped 20 rule changes.

They are, but like almost all the others they are just proposed rule changes at this time. They have to go through the comment process before they are finalized and can take effect.

In my very humble opinion they need to just deregulate and delete Suppressors, SBR’s & SBS’s records from the NFA … they probably won’t because that would be giving up control & regulation, I can see leaving Full-Otto … maybe (and I could see getting banned for saying this) registering Binary and FRT’s with no fee, I’m kinda torn on that though.

Dwill104Form 4 for a B&T Tiger 22 submitted 5/14, approved 5/20. Yet still no action on another Form 4 submitted on 5/5.

hrcjonI don't know if you already have another B&T Tiger so you may already know, but it is clearly the class of the .22 field.

P220 SmudgeMy B&T Tiger is currently my favorite can, by a lot. Went out shooting a buddy who is a major suppressor nerd (we both helped run the SAW booth a few months ago together), and we did a fairly extensive A/B with the B&T Tiger and the CAT Short Round in both a prior version and the newer A2. The Tiger was somewhere in between. It's very, very slightly louder than the SR A2, but not by much. It's also shorter, lighter, and about half the price. Factor all that together and the only reason to go with the SR A2 is if you just have plenty of extra money to throw around. Hell, I wish I had bought two Tigers when I picked mine up for $300.
It's the reason I bought another four magazines for my M&P 22X. Seriously hilariously fun setup.

Dwill104Found out that the Form 4 that I certified on 5/5 was actually approved on 5/12, but I never got the approval email, and neither did the dealer. The only reason I knew is that I got an email from SS saying that the ATF had approved it, and then went to my dealer and had him look up the control number. Second one this year when I didn’t get the approval email.

67 days if my count is correct. I’ll probably wait a couple of months to “make” it so I don’t have to engrave it.

hrcjonWhat change is going to get rid of the engraving rule?

Rick LeeThat was one of the rule changes in this latest rollout. I don't know if it's in discussion or goes up for public comment, but they said they wanted to abolish it. So I would probably hold off on my next Form 1 build.

A proposed rule was published in the Federal Register to adopt the existing manufacturer markings already on the gun instead of requiring that additional maker’s info be added when making a NFA item.
https://www.federalregister.go...irearms-act-firearmsIt was published on 5/6/26 for a 60 day comment period. There are also other proposed rules out for comment, including getting rid of the CLEO notification, not requiring Form 5320 for movement for less than a year, and allowing married couples to apply jointly for NFA items.

VgexI actually ordered an SBR direct rather than the pistol variant just because engraving is such an annoyance. The $50 extra combined with the drive to the engraver is hard to swallow as well.

Interesting, I’ve always bought the pistol version to save the $100 transfer fee the NFA dealer around here charge and paid $30 engraving fee up until the last two I had engraved, that was $50
