NFA wait times
UPDATE: I certified 12/16. Evidently approved 12/18, but never received the approval email from ATF. Had my dealer look it up today. Picking it up tomorrow.

I'm late to the party, but I bought my first suppressor last week. The gun store is holding mine till after Jan 1 to process, so I'm expecting a wait. He told me it could be months, but I'm cheap so I decided to wait.
I'll update this when I get the OK.

2 submissions 12/12. Approved 12/17. I never received notifications they were approved. Picked up yesterday after dealer checked status. Dealer knew about lack of approval notices and failed to let me know. I stopped by there to check status after reading about the notification issue in this thread.

It will be interesting to see how long the January submissions take. After paying the taxes, I won't complain if the free tax stamps are approved quickly. I'm content to have what I really want right now without the wait. I sincerely hope the new wait isn't too long as I'd still like to add to what I have now. My budget dictates no more Spanberger purchases until February at the earliest, so I'll be on the sidelines watching with interest.

Yeah, as a percentage, the $200 few shouldn’t be a dealbreaker. We’ll see how things shake out. With the average price of a suppressor, I can’t really see a serious run, maybe.

I plan to dip my tow with 2 threaded Howa Ultralight rifles, 243 & 6.5. After that I may add more.

Form 1s and Form 4s are back up!!

It took my SBR application and the pay button is just vestigial.

I submitted two individual F1's today. 5600 number difference in ID numbers. don't know if that's how many were submitted between mine. Now we wait.

Got my approved F1 just now. Submitted about 8am 1/1, approved about 8pm 1/3, about 60 hours. Looks like the stamp watermark has been revised too. It’s been redesigned, blue, and says zero dollars.

If this pans out to be quick, I will get two more suppressors.

I want to build a Gordy so bad.

Yes. Got those done over a year ago and totally worth it. That said, I’m not sure it even matters. People had been reporting getting fast approvals in a couple of days even with cards, and it seem unlikely they would have even gotten the fingerprints, much less run them in the approval time.

so I have not done this accept for my two that I did back in '12.

first, time doing the eform. I did the EFT prints, had to drive to Roanoke (1 hr.) Got my picture taken then had to get my trust notarized.

Jan 1st things were good but I needed to make a change to my trust. So I just got them done yesterday and one today.

Transferring my SBR and Suppressor from '12 to my trust was filed yesterday. I did my new trust to trust transfer from the suppressor I bought from a friend this morning. The website worked well with only a little bit of drama. My SBR serial had been put in as LE0 instead of LEO. but once I got that figured out it all worked. I just hope I did everything else correctly. We shall see.

Well, my SBR approval came back that I did on the 1st.
They didn't put my photo on it this time and the tax stamp says zero dollars.

I have seen reports that they are processing 100,000+ forms a day. My FFL said the ATF told them it's an AI system that looks the forms over for errors.

Shit, I'm buying another can this week!

I started the year off by ordering a new .22lr can from silencer shop on the first. Will be interesting to see total Tim from there to ffl to approval.

Nice. I submitted 2 F1s on the Jan 2. Hopefully mine aren't far behind.

Jan 4
-created atf account
-went to SilencerShop online & did a form 1 to SBS a shockwave
-went to the local kiosk for prints $ photo
- SS shows pending review(internal review)

Jan 5
- SS shows pending review

Jan 6
- SS shows pending review

I’m guessing the entire nation submitted everything for every can, SBR & SBS and SilencerShop is backlogged…..

Capitol Armory sent out an email today saying that it may take 1-2 weeks to get a Docusign copy sent for your review and then 1-2 weeks after before you’ll get the notification that they’re ready to certify. A lot of people ordered earlier in the year and had their submissions held until January 1, and they’re working through them in first come - first serve order. I suspect Silencer Shop is going through the same.

Did another Form 1 SBR this morning. This time it took over half a dozen times of entering my PIN to get it to go through. I’m guessing my approval will take a lot longer than the one 2 day one I got from the one I submitted on the 1st. Fortunately, I’m not in a big hurry since I can run with a brace until it comes back.

Just did a my first Form 4 submission without Silencer Shop's help. It took about 40 attempts to get the PINs to work. Customer assured me this was how it worked for his recent Form 1s and that it would eventually go through. And it did. Now I'll be curious to see when the approval comes. It was an individual, but he had his prints in an EFT and was well versed in eForms.
