NFA wait times
Are these fast approval times happening with machine guns as well?

I don't follow machine guns as purchasing one it outside my worldview. P220Smudge can probably tell you where to look for data. But I do have one friend that has two 'in flight' both are approaching a year. FWIW>

I purchased one in the early 1980s and it took a good 6 months or more to get the paperwork back. When it comes time to sell it, quick turnaround times may be a selling point. Looks like quick approvals are limited to suppressors and SBRs.

E-filed Saturday. Just got the email approval about five minutes ago. Not bad considering it was a holiday weekend. Essentially two days. Beats the hell out of the nine months it took my last one!

How long does it take for the actual physical stamp to come in after approval. I've printed out my copies, but isn't there an actual stamp that arrives?

If you used eforms, there is no physical stamp. The emailed pdf with the stamp watermark on the front page is all you get.

You only get a physical stamp if you paper file. If you e-file, the digital form is your stamp. Whatever you do, do not lose that email. I suggest emailing some backup copies to at least one other account, in addition to a thumb drive backup and some printed hard copies.

I heard last week that ATF has stopped processing all NFA stuff for non-LE and military due to the gov't. shutdown. So, not only is there a work stoppage, when the gov't. opens back up, there will be a backlog to work through.

I have filed electronically with ATF before, but NEVER for multiple SBRs at the same time.

Can you apply for multiple SBRs at the same application?

Or Do you have to submit individual application for EACH SBR, and pay individually?

How about electronic finger print? One print for ALL application form?

I am contemplating on submitting my forms now, and avoid the rush come January. I have 5 SBR forms I want to submit.

I submission = 1 tax stamp

You’ll be submitting five applications to make five SBRs. You’ll pay each time.

Get your prints done digitally and get an .eft file. Same upload for each application.

In regards to keeping track of your stamps. I have them in 4 places, paper copy in a notebook at home, paper copy in a Ziploc for the range bag, and digital copy on my computer. I was going to bring up one more option that might be helpful. If you have done business thru Silencer Shop they have an online Tax Stamp Wallet storage, it's an easy place to upload and have a place to view/retrieve them anytime you want to. Am I worried about having them stored "on the cloud?" Not really, all the serial numbers are registered and stored on the government's cloud.

Question about electronic filing of Form 1-Individual. It has been a while since I submitted one (and sent blue finger print cards). First time I submitted an electronic finger print. I hope I did it right.

1. Somewhere around the initial steps, I uploaded the EFT file where it said Finger Print. I was able to add the file. It also automatically populated the PHOTO section. I went ahead and hit NEXT.

2. On the ELECTRONIC File tab, I once again added few attachments (PHOTO, Picture of the Serial Number). It it will NOT allow me to add the finger print (EFT).
In fact, an EFT file is not even listed on the allowed attachments.

I paid the $200. Signed the form with my PIN. I got an email confirmation with 2 attachments.

1. Copy of F1 with mark SUBMITTED. I had and OLD photo. Not what I just uploaded.
2. A Cover Sheet asking me to submit 2 fingerprint cards within 10 days.

Questions:

A. Does this mean my Electronic Finger print did not go through? (I paid $50 for the service and usb stick).
B. Is there a way for me to verify that I really need to submit fingerprint cards?

I need to submit 2 more F1 forms before the end of this month.

Edit: I just finished submitting the remaining 2 Form 1. I added the picture and finger print under the RESPONSIBLE PERSON. All 2 confirmations sent me the same Finger Print Cover Sheets. I wonder if I really need to send finger print cards???

On the cover sheet, if it says REC’D next to your name, it means that they got your electronic file. The .eft fingerprint file only goes in the fingerprint file section. Regarding your photo, if it autopopulated, does that mean you have a photo in your profile? If so, you’ll need to change the photo in your account profile. The form grabs what it can from your profile and won’t let you override the autopopulated fields.

I finished all 3 Form 1s yesterday. I still printed all copies of the Forms and the cover sheet. And what do you know? All 3 cover sheets says "RECEIVED" like Dwill said. Regarding the photo, it was on the same USB card with the EFT fingerprint. I forgot they also took my photo. It looked like it was take from the USB.
So I say all is good to go.

Will post on when I receive the approvals. Hopefully not too long.
