July 23 last year? Or did you mean 6/23 of this year.

My bad, 6/23/25 submission and 6/25/25 approval. Essentially a day and a half.

Took a week to get from Silencershop to my local dealer. Roughly a day and a half once I certified the E-Form I got the stamp in my email and went to pick up the can.

The SRBS 7.62 is really nice. Adds very little back pressure (which is nice since it is going to mainly live on a SCAR 17) and tames 7.62 nicely. Sounds good on 300 Blackout supers as well. It doesn't add enough back pressure to reliably run 300 subs on my particular upper though, even with a light spring and buffer. I'll keep using my Alaskan for that.

Times ridiculously short now. Form 1 certified 7/15 at 9:46 am. Approved 7/16 2:11 pm. If I’ve done the math right, that’s about 28 1/2 hours.

I guess I’m coming home from vacation to a suppressor. All this happened while I was out of town. I’ll post a thread about it when I get back. I have never had an approval this fast, they’ve all been delayed.

Form 4 filed July 16.
Approved just now, July 21.

Five. Days. Fastest up to now was my PS90 at a month, and only after getting my congress critter after the FBI about my background check. They’re cookin’. If you want a can, now is the time.

Submitted Form 4 Individual Monday July 21st at 1548 hours.
Approval Wednesday July 23rd at 0739 hours.

Absolutely blazing fast. Guess I’m headed to the gun store as soon as work is over. Had to scratch the .308 SBR itch.

Wonder if these wait times will increase in January 2026 when there is a new flood of applications not needing the $200 tax.

They absolutely will. The question is how long the wait times will get. I think they know they’re going to get pummeled in a few months and they’re working to make sure there’s little or no backlog.

Got eform 4 for a SBR submitted at 11:56am CST on 8/4. Got email approval 6:27 am CST today 8/6.

If it’s only going to be a day or 2. This mag be bad for my wallet. I want a pistol and another rifle can

If buyers are waiting due to the $200 stamp fee not being waived till January. Just think of the volume crunch that will happen in January fellas. If you want your item approved really fast, just get it now. $200 is worth even a few weeks of wait. My last stamp was a from 1 in summer 2024 and it took about 3 weeks.

I don't need any can right now. But, I have 5 SBRs that I need to do. That will be $1,000 in fees. Still deciding on either just pay the fee now and get my approvals, or wait until January 2026 and maybe wait many months for approval? Frown

I think if you're willing to pay the grand and be more or less guaranteed to be able to put stocks on them in under a week (it's looking like the average is somewhere under 24hrs right now, which is fucking absurd), then you might do that. If you want to wait for January, the wait time could be a few weeks, a few months, or a year. Nobody knows, we're all pulling guesses right out of our ass.

I will say this, though: I don't need any SBR's currently, but after the New Year, I'm going to file a Form 1 on all my spare lowers, and any shotgun that isn't a piece of history. I want to be able to mount any upper on any lower or swap out to a short barrel on any shotgun within reason and not worry about it. That's not even getting into the technical plans I have for Form 1 cans, and guess what? The big burden on those having been the tax stamp is basically nothing now with materials, so between a drill press, 3D printer and a buddy who owns his own machine shop, I'm going to be fiddling with those as well. I want to make a number of .22 and pistol caliber cans and it'll be a case of "here's the plans, I'm not sourcing materials until after approval, have a nice day."

I wasn't going to spend a couple grand on tax stamps, but bet your ass I'm going to file at least a half dozen to a few dozen Form 1's. There are untold numbers of guys like me who are going to pile on just to pile on, and that's in addition to every Fudd who swore they'd never pay to exercise their 2A rights who suddenly won't mind signing their life away like the rest of us because there's no charge now. I keep saying it: The Fuddgates open January 1st. Anything you don't feel like waiting for, I would do now. I want to at least pick up a few more particular cans before then, and the rest of it is just going to be for giggles. I don't want to be waiting on anything I'm actually looking forward to, it's all just going to be icing.

My local gun store now does EVERYTHING in-house.
I got fingerprinted/photo and sent in the form on the computer.

Super easy, in and out in an hour.

First of the year, I would not be at all surprised to again see 9-10 month wait times. If I wanted/needed a NFA item I would (and did) buy today.

I expect to have it in hand Monday.

So, consider the next 5-months a $200-head-of-the-line fee. Pay $200 to get the can in hand within a 3-day span. Versus, wait till 2026 to get your suppressor the following September.

You should, because they do. NFA approvals happen on weekend days and at non-standard business hours.

I have this approval from last year:
Sun, Apr 28, 2024, 6:57 AM

I've seen guys get approvals late at night, too.
