Anyone have experience with SilencerCo Velos? Any of the the three models; 556k, 556, or the 762?

I shoot 5.56 and am building a .300 Blackout. About 6 years ago I bought what was hot at the time a SilencerCo Omega 300 and Keymo mount. Keymo mounts have since fallen out of favor and are heavy so I'm thinking of changing mounting systems to ASR or Rearden/plan B. I would be interested in Xeno for the left hand thread aspect. I have looked and haven't found anyone making a Charlie to Xeno adapter.

So strange that SilencerCo started the Bravo/HUB thread pitch that have are now almost universal and then comes out with Velos as Charlie threads.

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting a 556k and a 762 model and wondering about other's experiences. I have subscribed to Pew Science and fairly well current on what's out there. CAT might be my second choice. They are testing VERY well and are lighter (maybe not as durable?). Their marketing is so strange it's a turnoff, and it's hard to find out any info on the company.

I have a few SIGs.

Not having HUB was a deal breaker for me. I bought a Ventum 762 last month and recently got a Flow 556K out of jail after 4 months, so I’m going with those for very low backpressure.

I agree that the use of Charlie is annoying. However, perhaps they consider it a more robust interface. As far as I know, it's still Charlie on all their "hard use" cans, like the Sakers.

The Velos do seem to be good performers. The CATs have intrigued me as well. I don't see why their inconel options wouldn't be every bit as tough as the Velos.

There's a good reason SiCo opted for Charlie. They knew they were hurting the broader appeal, when they chose it, so there must have been an important motivator.

Prolly the lawyer reason. If A Town Has One Lawyer, He Starves; If It Has Two Lawyers, They Both Get Rich. Just a saying, but two formats, especially if they're both decent, can spread the territory. It also slows down runs on products as it splits the focus.

Came the other day. Mounted with a DA KeyMo, like it or not… I’m stuck in the Dead Air world for mounts on my AR’s. This is my first “low back pressure” can. We’ll see how it does. Need to get to the range asap.

Neat. I bet the Keymo adapter weighed almost as much as the can. Very nice.

The can is a little chunk for sure, not quite as light as I anticipated. You’re right, the KeyMo doesn’t help

I just ordered a CAT OBD Inconel in 7.62. It's at the dealer's and the paperwork has been filed so now it's just wait and see how long it will take.

I am thinking of mounting it on an FAL. i guess I need to go to the shop and see what I need to get it mounted. Certainly I will need to exchange the flash suppressor, but don't know what else will be necessary. I looked at my SOCOM 16 - there does not seem to be a way to mount a suppressor on that. That would be nice as it is short (relatively).

Way too many FAL variants for specific to yours advise but you will want the DSA suppressor gas plug.
