I like my obsidian 45 on the Banshee. And I’m very happy with my SilencerCo Velos. I’ve got a short list: RS9 - LBP hub mount (CAT makes models too but they are all Ti) OCL Lithium 9 - Probably the best weight and length for PCC Any insight, experience, or option I’m missing would be appreciated. I don’t like suppressors on centerfire pistols, so this will only ride on the Uzi. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

At the very least, take a look at the Ecco Machine Phoenix TL and TLX. https://thunderbeastarms.com/s.../summit2024/#RESULTS The TLX is the exact same can as the TL, except the TLX is in grade 5 titanium, so it's lighter and stronger than the TL's 17-4 stainless. Anywhere you see the 6.5" TLX on that list, you can read that as the 6.5" (10 baffle) TL, which I have. Since we all have our stuff on tri lug mounts, last Saturday, some friends and I compared our cans on different hosts using the same 147gr and 165gr rounds. A Stribog SP9A3, MKE MP5K clone, and a GHM9. Other cans were a YHM R9 and an Obsidian 45 in both the short and long configurations with the .45 endcap. We all agreed the Ecco was quieter on all three hosts with both types of ammo, both as the shooter and standing nearby. On the MP5K clone, it was no-shit hearing safe with 165gr ammo, and I say that with sensitive ears and coming from a place where I had decided there already was no such thing as "hearing safe." It had me wanting to go ahead and cave in and get an MP5 clone. This coming Saturday, we're going to repeat the test, but put it up against some B&T integrals and a few other cans. And yes, that's $445 for the TL (6.29oz) or $589 for the TLX (4.3oz), both in the 6.5" version. 1.3" diameter as well, so easier to do tucked builds than the Lithium (6"x1.5" 5.7oz). Dimensionally speaking, it isn't much different, but if you're comparing apples to apples with the TLX, you're shaving 1.4oz for giving up an extra half inch in length, but saving a couple hundred bucks at a half db quieter average of all measurements by TBAC, and almost 2db at the shooter's ear. In my book, I think the TLX is the better can and the better buy. I plan to eventually get one in .45. The same night yielded test results where the OCL Polonium full size on an 11.5" sounded no louder, no quieter, and had basically the same muzzle flash under NODs as the venerable RC2. The only notable difference was the RC2 had a slightly lower tone, but not significantly so. I mention this to show that it isn't me shitting on Otter Creek any. They make a great product, I really like my Polonium, but I think Ecco makes a better 9mm can. And yes, I've shot some 147gr subs through a friend's Lithium on an SPC. It was quiet, and no, I didn't get to compare them head to head. My memory is it seemed noticeably bigger than the Ecco I brought home a few months later. The others on your list, I can't speak to personally. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

I saw the ECCO offering, and for the price it was very tempting. I’d likely go with the SS over titanium. My time in code welding always led be to believe titanium wasn’t meant to get super hot, became brittle. And we’ve been known to do mag dumps on many occasions. Would it ever get to the point of a failure, most likely never. But it’s just always something that sticks in my head when looking at cans. I’ll be 100% honest, when I initially looked at the Canine I thought it was direct thread only, the booster extension is only 59$! 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

If you're only going to be shooting pistol rounds through it, you're never going to get it super hot. I've gotten my Polonium smoking hot a couple times, it took several magazines of 5.56 essentially dumped through it as fast as I can to make it glow under NODs. I don't know what it would take to get a pistol can that hot, but I'd have to imagine it would basically require full auto dumps of several hundred rounds. The other night, I was bare-handing those pistol cans and just sticking them in empty mag pouches. I wouldn't have done that with a rifle can after five rounds. Subsonic 9mm? Five rounds, no problem. Nick (owner of Ecco) has a TLX he's been posting pictures of on Instagram for the last year. He's been trying to blow it up. Full auto mag dumps on an M16, an AK, and even shooting 7mm Mag and .300 Win Mag through it, and he hasn't been able to kill it yet. I think if you get a Phoenix in whichever flavor, it'll prove to be a pretty stout piece of equipment. Mind that when you order from them, you get a discounted mount as well, you just have to include it in your notes when you order. For whatever reason, people are quick to recommend Ecco for mounts, adapters, recores and repairs of other company's stuff, but totally sleep on their cans and it just blows my mind. After getting to shoot through an R9 and a Rex Silentium MG7 (the other two budget pistol cans I was considering), I'm glad I went the route I did. If you have the budget to throw at it, the most impressive pistol can I've shot so far is the PTR Vent 2. It weighs nothing, was incredibly quiet, had a great tone to it, there wasn't much back pressure and if you look at that chart, it smokes everything else on the market with the possible exception of the B&T RBS. If you're dead-set on not going with a titanium can, then, well... it's 3d printed titanium. Personally, I wouldn't let that stop me. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd probably SBR an SP5K, do whatever it takes to make the trigger not be total dogshit and throw a Vent 2 on a tri lug and just have my grins. In fact, that's basically what I tried it on at the PTR booth at a suppressor industry event back in the spring, and of the many, many different guns and cans I shot, somehow that combo stuck in my memory. Subsonic 9mm on a quiet host with a really good can is honestly the most fun shooting I've had in a long time. I want that for you as well. I can't wait for this Saturday. I intend to get some good comparison footage with some more hot swap tests, let me know if you want me to forward you any of that. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Had my UZI for decades.Lots of fun. Though no longer available, I own an SWR Trident. When this can came out it was the quietest 9MM can of its day. Also it was one of the early cans that had interchangeable back ends. A huge part of the appeal was that they offered an UZI barrel nut adapter. Later I added the 3-lug for my MP5/357. This can handles full auto just fine.It even works with my 300 Blackout AR I also bought it for use it on my various SIG P226s and now my X-5 Tactical TB as well SilencerCO bought SWR many years ago and discontinued the Trident. If I were buying today I would get the the Octane, if I could recall who made the adapter for it. Or the Gentech Lunar 9. Gemtech has an UZI mount. ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . Certified Instructor . . . I don’t have an UZI, but I run a RS9 with a tri lug adapter on my SP5 and absolutely love it. I’ve also run it as a direct thread onto my CZ Scorpion Micro and was frankly amazed how well it worked on a straight blowback gun.

Just put in the paperwork to SBR my old IMI Model B. Will be getting a Pike Arms threaded 10.4” and probably just use one of my existing cans with direct thread. An UZI with 3 lug just looks wrong to me. Any thoughts on where to do the engraving? Under the rear seems optimal, but if I want to swap to the wood stock, then it will be covered up. Likely have to go on the side.
