Raised Hands Surround Us Three Nails To Protect Us |
I have had my Resonator for a long time and it serves me well. I just hate these big bulky muzzle devices. Lots of good smaller low profile Plan B muzzle devices. What adapter did you use for the can? Rearden Atlas seems nice https://www.reardenmfg.com/pro...s-ht-thread-adapter/ ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. The only issue there is that YHM has a reputation for not wanting to cover repairs under warranty if something goes wrong and you're not using YHM hardware and mounts. How much you care about that is up to you. Rearden makes fantastic stuff, the only real problem is finding it in stock. The Atlas is currently the gold standard Plan B mount. Lots of companies make Plan B muzzle devices now, so that part is just a matter of figuring out what you want. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

So if you have an issue with them just tell them you are using their mounts and hardware. How are they going to know you don't use them?

Yep. Just take off the Atlas or whatever Hub mount you decide on and either attach the original mount or just don't include either when returning for warranty service.

P220Smudge is the best source on this, but I understand the issue is that sometimes you can't get the mount off and it has to go back attached. And then YHM has not looked kindly on the situation. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Bingo. Just relating what I've seen and heard. YMMV and all that, if you feel like risking it, have at. Most manufacturers don't seem to care, or at least don't have the reputation for making it a sticking point. For whatever reason, YHM does. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Picked up my SRBS Ti today, and took off the direct thread mount immediately. Swapped it for the Atlas Ti. To compare the length added to a suppressor using a Surefire Hub mount (ratcheted all the way in) on a Print-X SRBS (white) vs an Atlas Ti on an SRBS (black). They are lined up at the base of the suppressor (approximately). The shapes are different due to the Print-X being 556 and the black being 762.

I'm not sure your ultimate point? one uses a collar system with an alignment tab and one threads on? Other than you can run your hub can on a surefire muzzle device the B&T surefire hub mount really sucks (I'll post separately on that) BUT it does what it needs to do which is get B&T cans and other HUB cans on surefire muzzle devices. No plan b mount can do that. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I'm not sure what you're taking offense to. I was just posting it to show the difference in length between the Atlas mount and the Surefire hub mount. I'm not suggesting the Surefire Mount is good or that the Atlas mount is better. I bought the Surefire hub print-x since I have a bunch of Surefire flash hiders. Putting an atlas mount on a regular can, makes it almost the same length as a compact with a ratcheting mount like the Surefire hub. If posting such is considered a thread derailer, I'll delete.

I took no offense at all or in any way. I think its great you posted that, but its buried in a thread about (at least to me is) a different issue. And its useful information. I'm not sure if you can get it to its own thread at this point but if you do I'll add a bunch of my experience on the B&T surefire hub mount. Otherwise thanks for posting... “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”
