I always enjoy his content. Yes, it's subjective and stuff like Pew is objective and scientific, but after several years of, well... frankly obsessing on suppressors, my overall takeaways are this:

1) They are traditionally all tradeoffs and we may eventually converge on a design that gives up nothing, but we aren't there yet.

2) The entire experience of shooting suppressed is fairly subjective because everyone's hearing is different.

That said, there are some commonalities and things basically everyone can agree on such is "A is louder than B" and "A has a deeper/higher tone than B" and his content delivers that. I've also met and talked with Rob, and he's a nice guy who is exactly who you see in the videos in person. I've also spent a lot of money with Eric, who is more and more his counterpart in these video tests, and he's never steered me wrong. I'll see both of them at the EVT suppressor range day in a few weeks, and I'm really looking forward to that.

That said, I'm not really surprised at the results of the video after owning and getting to test out a titanium 5.56 Tisha on a variety of hosts. It really just is something that defies belief and expectations. There are cans that are quieter, there are cans that are cheaper, there are cans that are lighter, shorter, "better looking," or equal in a number of ways, but I think currently in terms of everything factored in overall, it is the best 5.56 suppressor on the market. Zane at Stealth Additive absolutely knocked it out of the park with this can, and knowing a little bit about some of the other things they have in the works that aren't ready to talk about yet, they're just getting started. It was neat to see a head to head between the Tisha and Ekron in this video that mirrored my own conclusions from comparing them a few months ago. I will say that they have a can coming out this fall that... perhaps is quieter than either, is somewhere in size between the two, and has an added trick up its sleeve that I'm not seeing anyone else on the market doing currently. Wink

A few months ago, I posted about the Incolite 9M. I haven't run a ton of rounds through mine yet, but I'm super impressed with it, especially for $475. I know with the extension on it, it's rifle rated, but I haven't tried that yet. It's a 9mm can, and that's all I've shot through it so far, and it sounds really, really good. They ran it against the Tisha at 34:52 and it smoked the Tisha in terms of decibel reduction, which... yeah, it surprised me. I'm standardized on everything being Plan B, so I guess I'll have to try it on some rifles next time I head out and see what I think. I have a bit of an oddball clone rifle I've been messing with on and off for a few years now that I'll be finishing up very soon. I'll have a thread for that once I have it together, but I just realized it may well be the perfect host for the 9M. Hmmmm.

In the end, they gave it to the Exigent Fireteam, but it's important to note that it's a higher backpressure design. If you want to stay under a grand for one of the current best 5.56 cans, that's probably the one to get. I don't see anyone saying anything bad about them. If you have a bigger budget and want to shave some length, give up a few db's in sound reduction to go lower backpressure, then it's the Tisha.

Overall, great video and some interesting results. I was surprised they threw the Incolite in there, and I'm glad they did. The Strategic Sciences MFMD is honestly more of a stunt suppressor in my book. Yes, it's absurdly quiet, but also, it's a whole system that costs over three grand, and the total system weight for 5.56 is around 35 ounces. I'm not even sure that can be called "niche" because I can't think of what that niche is. Maybe actual sniping, I guess, but for sure nothing I have need for.

At 16 about minutes the white shirt guy completely trips all over himself and ignores what said he heard to pick his favorite. Paraphrasing: Well we know we heard this and we know that supressor doesn't do that, so it must have been the other one, blah blah, blah. Except 30 seconds before hand, when he doesn't know which one is which, he says he says the exact opposite.

Uhh... did you miss the part where he said he liked "silencer number 1" and was surprised to find out what it was, followed with "The Rhodie! The Rhodie 6 took it!" Did you miss all of the two minutes prior to that where he said the K version was quieter than the Tisha and the full size sounds even better than the K? Dude, come on.

Look, the guy isn't infallible and there are times I don't always agree with his takeaways, but I'm not seeing what you're accusing him of here. If you're convinced, tell him in the comments.

There's two guys there giving their feedback and if Eric (green shirt guy) says the Rhodie was quieter, I'm gonna believe him.

Yes, there are lots of comparison videos with the Rhodie 6j performing very well. I just picked mine up from EVT.

I'll be interested to hear your opinion on it when you get a chance. If you'd be interested in comparing it to some other cans some time, shoot me an email, we're basically neighbors if EVT is your shop.

That sounds great. I’ll shoot you an email. I also have a fatty jaguar that I’m installing on a Krink 556 I just got.

I did not miss it at all. In fact, that was my point. In the blind testing, he picked the Rhodie 6 as quieter, better sounding and said the other one was making a pop noise. Then, during the discussion, he jacked it all around and said that since everybody knows the other one doesn't pop, so it must have been the Rhodie 6 and he picked the other one as being superior. After finishing the video, I noticed over half of the comments pointed out the same thing. I don't know anything about this stuff, but the one went pffft, pffft while the other went pop, pop.

I've been watching his videos long enough to have seen him get some shit mixed up more than once. I think if he were trying to mislead or obfuscate, it would've been far simpler to just edit that out of the video, but it's in there. I see what you're saying, but I'm not seeing what you're seeing if you follow. I also don't get a pop off the Tishas I've shot on any host, so I'm honestly not sure what he's talking about with the pops. The tin roof sections may be playing a part there. The Ekron has a bit of a crack to it that the Tisha does not have.

Anyway, I don't see it as a "gotcha" moment like many do. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and he has more than once revisited a few comparisons where people wanted a more in-depth comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if he does exactly that here.

Regardless, xmod and I may hopefully get a chance to do just such a comparison with our own stuff since he bought one of those. Additionally, on the 24th, I will hopefully have a chance to hit up the Ridgeback booth at the EVT range day, so I'll have my own impression of hopefully their full lineup pretty soon.
