My LWRC SBR needs a booster to run suppressed. I want something other than direct thread i.e. QD of some kind. This is an odd situation. It looks like griffen camlock can do this. Are there any other options? “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

P220 Smudge I'm counting on you here... “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Other than the EZ-Lok, also by Griffin, your options seem limited. As noted, the SMG-45 requires a booster piston and spring because it has a moving barrel. Personally, I prefer EZ-Lok over cam-lok because it’s easier, although a little slower.

Thanks for that, I didn't realize that Griffin actually offered two choices. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

after way too much internet digestion (indigestion) of the two with internet opinions all over the place, it mattered not as in stock for what I needed was cam lok. I'll see if I like it and/or have any issues. I really wish someone would figure out how to do 3 lug with a booster (in this case of course .45 3lug). “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Ha! It's something I've been looking into in recent months as far as a mount I can migrate a can from a fixed barrel gun (Stribog) to a pistol and back again without having to change too much other than adding or removing a booster, and came to the conclusions you already arrived at: Griffin is basically the only company that I know of doing something like this, and it's the Cam-Lok and EZ-Lok. Looking forward to your impression of the Cam-Lok when you get a chance to mess around with it some. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Having looked at this I can't see anyway for your desire to be workable with any of the systems I looked at. But having said that (and I have not investigated this) is running a gun with a fixed barrel with a booster a problem? I can't conceptually see what the issue might actually be. then the solution seems easy. EDITED to add, a quick search says don't do it, but nobody really articulates why. This message has been edited.
