I bought a threaded barrel from Sig for my 9mm P226 Legion. I have a RAD 9 suppressor. The Sig barrel has a different thread pattern than the 1/2 x 28 required. It does not work.
I see SilencerCo sells a 1/2 x 28 threaded barrel for the P226 but it is not clear if I also need a piston?

The 226 factory barrels are 13.5x1 LH metric threads. You should have a piston/booster assembly on a handgun suppressor for proper function.

Instead of another new barrel, why not get a booster/piston for the RAD 9 to fit the metric thread? I believe they make them.

I have an old YHM Cobra suppressor I use on my P226; it fits the factory metric threading.

No need for another barrel, just grab a piston here in M13.5x1 LH.

My barrel does not have threads. So, I bought a Sig threaded barrel for it but my RAD 9 is set up for the 1/2 x 28 thread pattern.

As the others have said, the thread pattern on the Sig barrel you bought is M13.5x1 LH. Your RAD 9 came with a piston threaded in 1/2x28. The piston can be changed. Just buy the Huxwrx piston threaded in M13.5x1 LH.

Thank you all for your comments & suggestions! My intention is to switch the RAD 9 suppressor back & forth between pistols without changing any parts. I also wanted to stay with Sig parts ( barrel ) but their barrels are LH thread in 13.5x1. So, I am returning the Sig barrel and going with a SilencerCo barrel with the 1/2x28 RH threads.

Obviously you have your strategy. But a couple of points to consider. First its easy to change a piston. Like as easy as anything one can do on a gun. Second you are going to take the booster apart all the time. Like every time you use it.
now if you mean switch back and forth in the same range session then I get those points mean nothing. But if you mean today I take gun a to the range and tomorrow I take gun b then changing the piston will be trivial because you will already be taking it apart.

I get what you mean. And yes, you are correct about taking more than one pistol to the range in one trip which is my intention. Plus, I don't like the LH thread thing, LOL.

Actually, the LH thread is better in that it resists the suppressor loosening during firing.

Rule of thumb- European guns are usually metric left hand threads. American are right hand SAE thread.

Sig and HK definitely, although Sig did release the P320 Xcarry Legion and HK the SP5s with the U.S. 1/2x28 threading. Not sure about Walther, FN, or Beretta. Only seen newer threaded barrels from them, and they are in U.S. inch threading. Don’t know if they did older barrels in metric threads.

The barrel was brand new from Sig with the LH 13.5x1. I shipped it back.
