Hello ladies and gentlemen of SigForum, my wife and I have invested in a condominium for a short term rental business on the Emerald Coast on Florida’s panhandle. It’s located on the sugary white sands of Miramar Beach, just east of the Destin City limit. Our condo is located just across the street from the beach, a public beach access stretch and easy walking distance to Pompano Joe’s restaurant which is on the beach. It is a one bedroom, one bathroom condo on the ground floor with a queen bed in the master, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, and two bunk beds in the hallway. We try to be discerning with regard to who we rent our home to so we can enjoy it also for a long time to come. Sharing it with the good people of SigForum came to mind along with family, friends, and neighbors. Brings back good memories of EOD training at Eglin. I’m asking the wife about it now, looks like a nice condo, and I k ow exactly where it is.

Same here except I never had time to visit the beach much. It was much nicer than Indian Head when that was the second part of training.
One guy one my team met his wife while at Elgin. Her mom owned a house on the beach in Destin. She passed a way shortly after they were married and they inherited the house.
357fuzz and anyone else, feel free to email me. If you’re wondering a rough estimate for a time you’re thinking we can try and give you a ball park.. We are doing all the management on our own from Tennessee. You can also start the booking process on AirBNB, VRBO, and I think we are on Booking.com. Eventually we will create our own booking site for return guests, friends and family, etc. which will allow us to cut special breaks and avoid some of the other websites percentage. One day I’ll put a decent safe in for someone to keep a “eh hem” longer valuable or two. We have satellite on a 65” Sony 4K in the living room that makes rainy days more bearable and another smaller tv in the bedroom. They are also smart tvs so you can log in to your streaming service if you have your login info. Just make sure to clear it off when you leave. WiFi is provided and robust enough for streaming. We also were lucky to find house cleaners that do a great job and the boss almost always comes to check on the ones doing the work. We have doorbell internet cameras installed outside the front and rear door to discourage thieves and ensure we don’t get folks partying and trashing the place or Onlyfans renting for filming. Whenever I flew in to the area the government was footing the bill so I don’t know how costly the tickets were but I flew directly to Destin/ Ft Walton Beach. It was maybe a 15 to 20 minute drive.

Depends where you are coming from. Its about 20 minutes from Destin. Pensacola airport is a bit more than an hour away but serves many more inbound cities.

Thanks all. There is an executive airport in Destin and there are commercial airports closer to Ft Walton Beach and Panama City (the latter being about a hour drive) which is just across the Okaloosa Island Bridge. That drive can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 depending on traffic. We are on the other Destin between Bass Pro and the Outlet Mall but on the beach. I’ve never had to fly in as I’ve lived in N Ga and Tenn most of my life. I’ve always made the drive around 7 hours from north of Chattanooga. We’ve had more rentals than I expected for the off season. We are looking forward to the warm weather season.
