Why not just buy a 9mm slide assembly?

If you have a P229 Carry whose SN begins with E29CA you may be able to find a P224 9mm upper. As you may know the P229CA is a P224 with a lengthed grip and is not compatable with most standard P229 parts.

I have a P229C in 9mm that I'd like to trade you.
I don't think that it is a SAS model though. I'll have to break it out of my safe to make sure. IF it is a SAS model, I'll let you know.
I haven't shot it for at least 4 years. Even then, it had less than 50 rounds through it. I just prefer .357sig. My email is in my profile.

Not sure a P229C SAS in "9mm" ever existed. Of the 24 P229C models I have owned, the only SAS models were in 357 Sig and 40 S&W. All of my 9mm models were "E29CA-9-B" while the SAS models were "E29CA-357-SAS2B" and "E29CA-40-SAS2B".

I believe you are correct as I never found one. The P224 9mm did have an SAS model so the upper can be swapped & the 357 sold as a P224. That is what I did.
