Bought a project piece…very old very used (what appears to be a police trade in) in .357 Sig. I’m having it cerakoted and will be replacing the springs. It came with a beater pair of crimson trace grips that I want to replace with simple Sig 226 plastic grips.also need a couple mags. I’m a newbie at this and welcome any other suggestions or advice! Thanks.

One of my P226's has the Crimson trace laser grips on it and I don't like them... way too fat. I do like them on my P239's... for a P226, at least for me, the thinner the better.... I probably have a set of factory grips I could let go of...they are still too fat for my taste and if you are really in need I could probably send along a mag or two.

357 sig in the P226 is the bee's knees.... except of the cost of shooting.... I'm going to do a test next time at the range and see about just switching the barrel on one and using a 9mm magazine .... I'm pretty sure it will work. Does with P239's and because they are single stack you don't even need a 9mm magazine.

357Sig ammo doesn’t fit in P239 9mm mags.

Yes, I know, but but does work the other way; 9mm rounds will fit and work in the single stack P239 357 sig magazines... won't in double stack 357 mags like a P226. the good news is all P226 frames are the same and will accept all caliber magazines for them..9mm, 40, 357 sig and even 22lr.
