As a recent senior citizen, last year I made some minor accommodations for advancing old age. I have shunned for the most part carrying polymer framed handguns simply as I prefer steel framed handguns.
Last year I added several HK DA/SA polymer frame handguns into the carry rotation. When I acquired them, HK had a magazine promotion going on.
HK would give you a $150 credit at the HK webstore for each new handgun purchased. Conveniently, additional handgun magazines were priced at $50 each at the HK webstore.
Doing the magazine promotion at the HK webstore required setting up an account. So for the last year, I've been enjoying seeing "specials" from the HK webstore via email.

Last week, I received an email from the HK webstore, 30% off on HK "Fray" knives. These are manufactured by Hogue with 154CM steel & Hogue "OverMolded" scales.
I had seen these HK/Hogue Fray knives on the Hogue website before, but now they no longer appear available from Hogue, only from HK.

With the 30% price reduction, I ordered one and it arrived yesterday. I'm not sure yet if I like knives finished in Cerakote. Time will tell about that.
The polymer knife sheath was included. This is my first knife manufactured by Hogue, and I do like it!
The "feel" while in the hand is very comfortable, and not slippery.
It's a flat grind, and being 154CM, it should have decent edge retention/toughness/strength, while not having the sharpening issues most of the knife "Super Steels" usually have.
The longitudinal line visible on the flat grind surface Cerakote finish is from inserting the knife in the sheath.
That sheath will fit my double layer gun belt in the vertical carry position, and will require slight modifications if I choose to carry the knife horizontally. (spacers of increased thickness)

Overall, a very nicely USA manufactured knife at a great price. It is advertised as a 4.2" clip point blade, and a blade thickness of 0.1875" with OAL of 9.1" and weight of 5.4 oz. Sheath weight of 1.7 oz.

Looks like a nice knife, plenty thick to use as a wedge if/when necessary. Also, being 154 cm, you can sharpen it on a river rock in the field. No, I just remember Ernie"s advertising from years ago.
