Everyone, what do you know about 44ASW bayonets? A friend just inherited this German bayonet. I'm searching but not finding useful information. I'm hoping that the knowledgeable members here will know when it was made and what rifle it was meant for. Rob NRA Life Member

According to the K98 forums the 44ASW was used on the K98 Mauser in 1944. __________________________ "Para ser libre, un hombre debe tener tres cosas, la tierra, una educacion y un fusil. Siempre un fusil !" (Emiliano Zapata)

I find it amusing that you obscured the serial number. It’s a K98k bayonet. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

The WWII Mausers had 4 digit serial numbers, just like the rifles. The Germans just started over when they reached 9999. The bayonet that came with my K98k was about 5 numbers off from the rifle.
