stuffgeekBuck 110/112 autos - fans come in
I always like the traditional buck design and felt an auto makes it even better. Anyone sled a fan? And why are they so expensive to say a Kershaw auto?

jhe888I can't understand why they are that expensive either. They are decently made, but the steel is kind of crap.

OgieI've got one. I like it. I really only bought it to sit next to my 40 year old Buck 110. I couldn't buy an auto back then so this was just a revenge purchase.

Basically a collector's item for me personally.

parabellumKershaws are made in China, Bucks are made in the USA. Is that not correct?

Correct as far as the Buck knives go. They are all made in the USA. Apparently some Kershaw knives are made in the USA.

casMaybe they saw what the conversions sold for and based the price on that?
I carried a similar Schraide daily for many years so the autos always intrigued me. But I don't know if I could go back to such a heavy sucker now.
(some of Buck's cheaper knives are made overseas)

More and more Bucks are being made in China. The 110's and 112's are still being made in the U.S., at least for now.

C L WilkinsBuck makes a 110 auto with an S30V blade. They also make a non-auto 110 with S30V as well.
Much better steel than 420HC that was the standard Buck 110 steel for years.
Although Paul Bos has retired and is living in AZ, Buck still uses his heat treat methods.

Z06I bought this Buck 110 Auto 12/18 after I sold a converted 110 that was originally a Harley-Davidson Dealer item. My first 'good' folder was a 110 back in 1965.
